Very badly written. In need of serious editing. Some sentences contain clichés, poor grammar and poor sentence structure, such that meaning is obscure. For example, "Cerebrum sweeps show contrasts as fit as a fiddle and structure of the mind in youngsters with a mental imbalance in contrast with in neurotypical kids." (p. 12) Vague terminology confuses readers. What are "cerebrum sweeps"? a new folk-term for fMRI? Suzanne does not include any citations (indicating from whence she got her information), so this leads me to doubt her wisdom and veracity. Sorry I wasted my money, except that I can tell parents in my program not to buy it. Dr. K. Patten

Some useful info, but rather poorly edited, eg several typos and gaps in wording. Also found content to be somewhat shallow and reptitive.

Excellent book regarding autism.I found the book very well researched and containing alot of practical info for parents with an autistic child.
While I don"t have autism in my immediate family, I know of some families where autism does affect at least one of their children. This book gives alot of great background and as importantly alot of useful information which can be applied on a daily basis in dealing with a child with autism.I will definitely be passing on this book to families I know affected by autism.

HASH(0x9a70f360) out of 5 stars Disappointed March 8 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have a son on the spectrum and I downloaded this book to learn more about it. I was very offended by this book!! This author seems to have thrown this together without much thought. None of the sections were fully developed that I managed to force myself to read. It is not a disease it is a disorder. A disease can be transmitted to others; you can not catch autism. My doctor told us ASD stands for Autism Spectrum Disorder not disease as stated in this book. I could not even finish reading this book because I could not get past it being called a "terrible disease". I am glad I did not spend money on this I would have gotten my money back!!

HASH(0x9a70f5a0) out of 5 stars Children diagnosed with Autism and their families experience a range ... Sept. 22 2015
By Jen Duan - Published on Amazon.com

Children diagnosed with Autism and their families experience a range of behaviors and characteristics that are known as the Autism Spectrum, and where your child falls on this spectrum will influence how you approach their individual needs. While all autistic children have deficits in social communication, some may be more disabled than others. Their range of repetitive behaviors, obsessive compulsions, and social interaction skills will vary. There are many resources available to help you understand and properly parent your child, and this book offers a guide to help you recognize unique symptoms and approach daily activities with care.

HASH(0x9a70f744) out of 5 stars Very nice introduction on the autism front! Feb. 11 2015
By Robert Palmer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
A complete book nonetheless. I thought Autism had to do with some brain damage or something. This book made some very useful clarifications in my head. It contains a lot of useful information and makes more straight the whole misconception about the Autism syndrome. I have not tried any other book to be honest but I think Suzanne covers a whole of valuable issues on this one.

I would like to see some more details on the subject tho, with more examples, courses of action etc. Very well written and informative thought!

Thank you

HASH(0x9a70f618) out of 5 stars Perfect for Parents or Frinds of Autistic Child July 7 2015
By Jimmy Franklin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
We have a close friend who has an autistic child, and I have to be honest that I do not really understand everything surrounding this issue. I thought I knew enough, but after reading through this book I really knew nothing. I was completely misinformed with everything I knew, and now I understand so much more that ever. The book explains before it tells you how to teach, all about the autistic child and behaviors. Take the time to read this book, you will be better for it.
