Product Description

When an old flame calls Tom Barrick in the midst of a well-earned celebration to ask for help, his first thought is to turn her down. She’s drop dead gorgeous, and they had come perilously close to committing adultery several years before…not the sort of thing he wanted on his conscience. His second thought was that her husband had apparently died two years before in a small plane crash in the Alps. Her pleading changed his mind, and he soon found out that Dr. Kristin Davenport Heller was involved in something far more deadly than he had seen as an Intelligence Officer.
With his Excalibur CyberSecurity team, Tom enters a shadowy nightmare of blackmail, theft, kidnapping, and international intrigue…and finds himself in the arms of a beautiful and tempting woman.

HASH(0xa59b46e4) out of 5 stars Fun quick read! Sept. 10 2014

Blackmail was a quick read which kept my attention throughout.
Tom Barrick was owner of Excalibur CyberSecurity, Inc. and has a wealth of experience. When a friend, Kristin, from his past calls about her brother being in trouble Tom not only agrees to help but something else happens too.
Paul tells him he is being blackmailed by his boss and Tom investigates. He finds out that the boss invented a mini device that both the US and Canadian governments would die for. However his son was kidnapped and they want five million dollars for his release.
The rest is for you to find out on your own.
I enjoyed the book. It was a short story, one that could have delved even further into the characters or added a few more subplots. The concept can very well be played into a series.
HASH(0xa532e1c8) out of 5 stars Awkward, clunky prose and a fundamental misunderstanding of words Aug. 7 2015
By Neil James - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
*SPOILER ALERT* This mercifully short story starts with one of the clunkiest, most awkward sentences I've read in a long time, and I read a lot of self published fiction. The morass of adjectives and adverbs can just about be forgiven - it's so common of newbie writers - but to write a story called 'Blackmail' without any apparent understanding of how blackmail works is beyond the pale. A man is slipped a roofie, seduced and filmed in a compromising position. Later, he is shown the tape, and told if he doesn't steal a device, he will be killed, but only after his wife and son are killed in front of him. THAT'S NOT BLACKMAIL! In this scenario, there's no need for the roofie/seduction/filming. You EITHER threaten to kill someone and their family, OR you get something incriminating on them, NOT BOTH! Due largely to the appalling dialogue that would benefit from a great deal of editing by someone who has actually heard humans talk to each other, I couldn't make it more than half way through this mess.

A quick little short story that was well written. The characters come to life in short order. The plot brings the reader right into the action and carries you to the end without letup. No wasted words with a plot twist that comes out at the end. Nice story.

I loved this book, I can't wait to read more of the series! I would recommend this book to all my friends. It's easy to read and keep up with. Very descriptive, I had no problem picturing everything in my mind like a movie !!
