HASH(0x9d7797f8) out of 5 stars Its one of my favorites in the series. April 11 2016

Format: Board book
The book has nice real photos of baby arctic or winter animals. There is text on the left hand page next to each animal. Some of the words in the text take the shape of what it means. For example, the word hopping will be written with the letters up and down so it looks like they letters are hopping/bouncing. I think the book would be good for one year olds but not for very early readers because of the tricky shapes to words.. however it could be good for readers who have mastered the basics and can appreciate the creative play of the words. The amount of writing per page was a bit much for my 10 month old page turner who just touches each animal's nose. the book includes mammals and a penguin, but this is ok for a snowy book because other types of animals like lizards are not going to be in the snow! Its one of my favorites in the series.
