Product Description

Product Description

Originally Release '99. Debut album from pop princess.

Amazon.ca

Debbie Gibson never recorded anything as sexy as Britney Spears's white-funk smoker "...Baby One More Time." Unfortunately, neither does the 17-year-old Spears's debut album contain anything else that remotely approaches that instant hit single. A few of the disc's cuts are pleasantly catchy, but too much of its space is given over to icky ballads ("E-Mail My Heart"?) and other unconvincing moves such as the dancehall-lite "Soda Pop." --Rickey Wright

I bought this album for the first time (used for only a penny :P) And it is fantastic! Its just Pop magic! From the classic hits Baby One More Time, You Drive Me Crazy, Sometimes, Born To Make You Happy there are some other stand out tracks like Soda Pop, I WIll Be There, Deep in my Heart and I Will Still Love You. Pure pop music magic! This album set the stage for one of the greatest artist in pop music history! A must have for any pop fans, who not only love Britney Spears but want a little guilty pleasure!

The 97-99 stage of music seemed unstop-able with pop music bands like The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, & NSYNC. But, one young girl by the name of Britney Spears unleashed one of the most popular albums of our time.
1.) ...Baby One More Time - 1st Single
Chart Stats: US - #1 / UK - #1
Review: You werent anyone if you didnt like this song. 'BOMT' has to be one of the best (if not the best) pop songs ever. Britney has the sex appeal and the preformance level that made this one of the biggest songs ever.
2.) (You Drive Me) Crazy
Review: Also a great pop song. Very catchy just like 'BOMT' but also different.
3.) Sometimes - 2nd Single
Chart Stats: US - #21 / UK - #3
Review: A good slow song. Also a very good video. A good follow-up to 'BOMT'
4.) Soda Pop
Review: Not as hit-worthy. Very soulful and pop-ish.
5.) Born To Make You Happy - 4th Single (UK)
Chart Stats: UK - #1
Review: This song shows up 'Soda Pop'. Scoring her 2nd #1 in the UK. The lyrics are great and if you ever catch the video then watch it.
6.) From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart - 4th Single (US)
Chart Stats: US - #14
Review: This is one of my favorite Britney songs. Its a ballad and a very good one.
7.) I Will Be There
Review: I love this song. The Hook is amazing.
8.) I Will Still Love You (Duet With Don Phillip)
Review: Ok song. Not the best.
9.) Thinkin' About You
Review: Very bubblegummy / teen pop.
10.) E-Mail My Heart
Review: This is the best ballad on the album in my opinion. Ive always loved this song.
11.) The Beat Goes On
Review: This is a cover of Cher's song. It's good but, not the best on the album.

In January of 1999, the world was introduced to a 17 year old naughty teenybopper schoolgirl named Britney Spears whom released her debut torture chamber of an album Baby One More Time. She was a former Mouseketeer(along with Justin Stinkercake and Christina Gagulera) whom was turned down by every label until Jive(the home of R&B acts like R. Kelly, Billy Ocean and Hi-Five and rap artists like Fu-Schnickens, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and A Tribe Called Quest) reluctantly signed her. The BOMT album was an immediate success staying at #1 for 6 weeks and sold over 13 million in the US(her subsequent albums have done less successful) and was rightfully panned by critics as cheesy and mediocre pop music. Songs like the title cut have been done before(look to Tiffany, Debby Boone, Debbie Gibson, I can go down the list). Songs like the title cut, Sometimes and You Drive Me Crazy make me want to run for the stereo and crank Genesis' Three Sides Live because this girl can't sing at all, why does she mime at every show, hmmmmm? I have heard this CD seeing that my niece is a huge Britney fan. Like I said, BOMT sold 13 million copies and made her the object of young girls to look up to and teenage boys and old men to lust after. Britney since this album's released has become a walking contradiction to what she was like when she started. She doesn't write her own songs. She is a robot. Avoid!

A Britney Spears' CD is one of the worst pieces of crap avaiable today. Britney besides of being unable to sing without making that sound similar to the one that my neighbor's dog does when he is eating and unable to sing without a computer is one of the most horrible examples of how to make money in an easy and fast way. However she is different ( A little bit) . The stupid Backstreet boys had a stupid crowd of 12 year old girls. Now after they grew a little bit they stopped listenig to them. However those same 12 year old girls kept on listening to this demon because she changed her attitude. From a stupid image of a girl that goes to school and has stupid songs about crap, She got to he next level which is being a slut. Her stupid videos and her "spontaneous" kiss with Madonna moved her to another level of stupidity. Anyway, she will soon be gone because after all she is not a singer, she is fat, nobody believes she is virgin ( And the fact that she sells with her "virginiy" is sick and shows that she has no respect for herself) and because those girls are gonna grow up (I hope). Avril Lavinge and 50Cent took her place with many of the 12 year old ( Yes, 50Cent took her place. I see it. Soon you will be gone. GO THE HELL BRITNEY SPEARS
