You need to know that I discovered hockey in a big way as a driveway superstar in about 1970. So, growing up in Manitoba, that meant reading about expansion to Vancouver and Buffalo, but more importantly, a new league on the beloved WHA. So you can basically say I grew up with the Jets. I still have the scrapbook of a host of newspaper arcitles I clipped from the Free Press and the Tribune in the 70's. Now, if you don't have that kind of a scrapbook, this book is as close as you can come to filling the void.

Great photos and well written. It covers the birth of the Jets, Bobby signing for a million, that story about Anders and Ulf and "what did Bobby think"...the last gasp in the WHA when the Jets picked the bones of the Houston Aeros and won that last Avco cup, the decimation that accompanied the entry into the NHL, Fergie era....I could go on and on. Coverage of the excitement of the transplanted Thrashers is to the point - could easily have been dragged out, given that this was released just at the start of the first season of the new Jets, but I'd say all the bases were covered and not overdone.

I love the last page - simply the new Jets logo. As if those chapters are still to be written....exciting!

This is an awesome book. I have bought a few copies now and given them away to others. Sure to bring a smile to any hockey fan's face

And no, I am not related to the author *L*.
