Reacher left the villains alive in Bad Luck and Trouble. Now old enemies seek vengeance in this USA Today Bestseller

Lee Child Gives Diane Capri Two Thumbs Up!
"Full of thrills and tension, but smart and human, too. Kim Otto is a great, great character - I love her." Lee Child, #1 World Wide Bestselling Author of Jack Reacher Thrillers

When Jack Reacher Makes Mistakes, Who Handles The Fall-Out?

FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar’s off-the-books assignment leads them to the surviving members of Jack Reacher’s elite military unit. Five years ago, Reacher sorted and destroyed a team of arms dealers in Lee Child’s Bad Luck & Trouble before he moved on. But he made mistakes. Now, his bad luck and trouble legacy plunges Otto and Gaspar into the minefield of a grudge war between Reacher’s fearless old friends and chilling new enemies.

When his enemies take women and children hostage for ransom, Kim’s relentless pursuit leads her deeper into the deadly war Reacher failed to finish. Mercenaries and Kim’s unwavering heart push her through — until she meets the wrong woman with nothing to lose.

Diane Capri has done an amazing job in her series Hunt For Jack Reacher. After an introduction to her writing in the Deadly Dozen compilation, I was thrilled to meet Agents Otto and Gasper in Don't Know Jack as they begin the first of their journey in search of the elusive Jack Reacher. Masterfully written, engaging characters, and a curious obsession to know why they have been put on this assignment had me purchasing the second, third and now the fourth book of the series Get Back Jack to become more acquainted with the complex and engaging agents. I have again been entertained by the events that unfold during their search and enjoy how Diane's characters come to life so vividly! Her fluid storytelling and exciting story line kept me reading long into the night,. I have thoroughly enjoyed the read and have developed a new obsession, following The Hunt For Jack Reacher!!! I highly recommend following the entire series for lovers of both the character created by Lee Child and lovers of great mystery/thriller books. I can promise you will not be disappointed!

I wasn't a huge fan of this book, big Reacher-Child fan and this just didn't do it for me. I would give another try but if the next novel doesn't do it for me I will probably not bother with any other Capri books Reacher or otherwise.

HASH(0xa002ad68) out of 5 stars Interesting and fun Oct. 15 2013
By Jerry Briggs - Published on Amazon.com

Though we will probably never come across Reacher in one of Diane Capri's novels, the hunt is interesting, as is their speculation about his terrible character! They sift through the clues and discover that things they blamed on Jack were not things he actually did, much as Child's books often develop: Jack is accused, threatened, mistreated....and it is all a mistake, always! But the fun is that Jack doesn't take it lying down. Diane hits with the same gritty violence we find in the original series, and it is done with both humor and good plotting. Gaspar, her underling, has his as yet undiscovered skeletons in the closet, and Kim is interesting but you know there is something about her we will discover as this series goes on. Meanwhile, I recommend, for Reacher fans, this book, as well as the first, "You Don't Know Jack". I haven't read the short stories in her series yet, and probably won't. I need a full book when I buy a title. I look forward to the next full novel, and hope it plays off another of the series we have read before, by Child.

HASH(0xaf947cd8) out of 5 stars Very disappointing April 4 2014

It was way too wordy, filled with unimportant details and frustrating ideas and conclusions that never materialized , very disappointing that "Reacher" never showed up in the book , I won't read another in the series

HASH(0xaf947df8) out of 5 stars I Know Jack and This Ain't Him March 2 2014

A good attempt but not anywhere near as entertaining as Lee Child's work. Repetitive and slow, this book can be ignored with no worry of disrespecting Jack Reacher.

HASH(0x9ffa9e1c) out of 5 stars There's just no Purpose to this March 19 2014

It appears the writer wants to capitalize on the success of the Jack Reacher series. Well, she got me to buy two of her books, but I couldn't even finish the second one. There's just no point in the book... there's no real conclusion, which opens the door for the next book to be written (and bought).

A bit hohum..... too much description and not enough action.
Story lacking destination..... tends to miss creating the tension for the reader with subsequent surprise elements.
