I don't know what everyone else is complaining about since nobody forced them to watch the film and some didn't even see the whole thing before rating! Okay at first in the first 5 minutes the film does seem a little boring but you have to keep watching because it gets better. I thought the film was very nice. The story was very interesting and I learned something knew about these kinds of flying fish species. Not only does the story teach animal compassion, bravery, not giving up on your dreams but it also teaches about fish species and the sea. The only thing I didn't like was how the ending was in black and white in the last parts which are vital to the plot that is why I only rated 4. This is not a finding nemo so don't expect to get something like this. This is a different kind of film and very much different. I think if you love fish and animals you will love this.

I didn't know if this would be a movie worth watching but my little one loves movies about the sea.She really liked it- as a mom and a adult really not my thing but as long as she liked it I'm happy.

Finding Nemo comparisons aside, this 2D feature animation actually stands fine on it's own. After reading a few of the unfavorable reviews, I came in with no expectations and was ready to click on something else to watch with the kids. I'm glad I didn't. It's a decent feature. Could it have used a little editing and made shorter? Probably. But if you can spare an hour and a half of viewing time with your kids and family, there are some good themes here. Friendship, trust, and sacrifice to name a few. I especially enjoyed the father and son relationship as it developed through the film from the father sternly wanting the son to carry on the family business (restaurant) to eventually having a change of heart in the end in a positive and uplifting way. Though the fish characters are integrated throughout the story, it seemed to me to be more about the humans. There are some scenes of peril, a half-second scene of a gun pointed menacingly at someone, and the undercurrent of these fish characters all possibly ending up on someone's dinner plate (they are in a restaurant kitchen, after all). Some may find those objectionable. I didn't. This isn't a blockbuster feature, but it's a good effort on its own. Four stars.

This animated movie has good graphics and a pretty nice story line. This is an excellent animated movie for young people and adults that love to watch animated movies.
