By The Movie Guy HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on Feb. 29 2016
Format: Blu-ray
Dr. Peter Bower (Adrien Brody) laments and blames himself over the death of his daughter Evie (Emma O'Farrell). He accepts a job in Sydney doing psychological assessment. He discovers his patients all have one thing in common, something which forces him to return home and remember an event from over 20 years ago.

Adrien Brody appears to have been typed cast into roles of a gloomy individual. He plays a pathetic individual not knowing what is happening to him, someone who sees ghosts. The film never develops into a real horror in spite of a few attempts to have a scary ghost scene. It is described as a mystery/thriller with the thriller side being light and half of the mystery revealed in the film trailer. The mystery peels itself back like an onion skin, never giving us enough clues to go beyond the next level.

While I enjoyed watching the film, it is not one I would watch again.

HASH(0xa0a10bd0) out of 5 stars Well developed, acted and directed March 13 2016

"Backtrack" combines the paranormal with mystery in a suspenseful plot twist. It was not written for sensationalism but for the story itself which is definitely refreshing. Time was taken to develop the plot. Adrien Brody does well in his role - I am not typically one to be nervous in a film but his acting was believable enough to make my heart pound a few times which is rare for me. He carries the film with solid supporting actors ... the only moment that dragged me out of the film was the ghost noise used "The Grudge". Happily, they did not repeat that mistake ... and the ambiance of the story was restored in the next scene. The plot was solid, well built and used a perfect amount of suspense throughout to resolution. Nicely done and I am adding this one to my library.

No swearing or nudity.

HASH(0xa2181ac8) out of 5 stars Keeps On Track With the Meaning... May 1 2016
By Simon - Published on Amazon.com

This review is coming from someone that watched "The Sixth Sense" and didn't know Bruce Willis' Character had died. I still watch shows, on my computer, over and over for not only enjoyment but to see details that impressed me. This started off slow but stayed on track; it was written very well and gave many details as it played along. But, the ending was very interesting enough; today I am watching it on my computer for those details that stand out more on the second run...on. I enjoyed Adrien Brody in "The Jacket." So, with the details, I give this Five Stars of staying on track and not loosing the audience. As it played along, my husband recaptured his interest. He was impressed and this says much. Everyone is a different mind and body so you have to watch it with your own ideas on what impresses you.
