About the Author

Salah AI Hamdani, poète, écrivain et homme de théâtre d'origine irakienne, est né en 1951 à Bagdad. Opposant à la dictature de Saddam Hussein, à ses guerres et à l'occupation anglo-américaine de l'Irak, il vit en exil en France depuis 1975. En tant qu'acteur et metteur en scène, il a participé à plusieurs pièces de théâtre en France et en Europe (Gilgamesh, 1979) et a joué dans quelques films français et étrangers (Baghdad ON / OFF de Saad Salman, 2003). Auteur de recueils de poèmes et de récits publiés en arabe et en français, il a commencé à écrire en prison politique en Irak vers l'âge de 20 ans.
