Picking up shortly after the original movie's end, Bambi follows his father, the Great Prince, into the forest after his mother's death and the Great Prince must teach the young fawn, and his friends Thumper, Flower and Owl, how a deer survives in the forest. But the Great Prince finds that his high-spirited son may have a lesson or two to teach him, as well.

The backgrounds and animation are beautiful, and very much like the old movie. Some of the music from the old movie is heard again too.
I would rate this an A+ movie for kids, and one that won't totally annoy the parents either. I found it endearing. The only undesirable thing my daughter got from the movie is the phrase "Big Ole Momma's Boy", which she now correctly uses to refer to the cat.
This isn't a sequel to Bambi, I should note, as the story actually fits in to the middle of the original film. Bambi has just lost his mother, and now it is up to his father, the Great Prince, to take care of him. The Great Prince does not take to parenting naturally or easily; he feels that a doe should raise the child, and he asks Friend Owl to help him find a new mother for Bambi once spring arrives. Bambi desperately wants to please his father, but he is just too young to meet his father's high standards. The Great Prince wants Bambi to behave as a prince, not as a young deer. Fortunately, Bambi does have friends to play with, including Thumper and Flower.Read more ›
It takes place after Bambi's mother dies, and that the "Great Prince" Bambi's father, has to take good care of him. They go through a lot of adventures.
Then there's Thumper, Flower, and Faline; Bambi's pals. Poor Thumper... Has to hide away from his little sisters, hehe.
And Flower, well, he's a cool addition to the original and this movie too. Finding his inner-strength. What a funny little skunk.
But then there's Ronno. The buck that tried to steal Faline away from Bambi in the first movie. Ronno's a little pin-headed, disrespectful, and annoying little show-off. Though for some reason, I like him. And it's great how they had him with his right ear chipped off a bit like a triangle cut.
But Patrick Stewart who did the voice of Great Prince, man, did he ever do him so well. I've always like Patrick Stewart. It was neat how they made him say something so un-adult like. And that when Bambi and Great Prince were playing around proudly. Great Prince says something like, "Whoo-hoo!" Awww that was really cool!
So for you all, by this movie, I guarantee that you'll love it!
Packaging was good and DVD was in good shape, however the DVD case was broken where the DVD sits in the case and was loose when I opened it. Played the DVD and DVD was fine, no damage. It's just the case. I will get another case and put the DVD in there to protect it.
Shipping was fast. Came in before expected date.
Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the case being damaged. Other than that, DVD is great. My daughter (and myself) enjoyed it very much. Very entertaining.
