While I do read fanfiction...and the Twilight variety happens to be one of my favourites, I hadn't actually read Beautiful Bastard in its original fanfiction format, so this book was completely new to me! First, I will state that Beautiful Bastard does have mature content in it...so yes, there is sex. It's definitely an adult story, so you've all been warned. Second, Bennett is a class-A douche at times...oh boy is he ever, but he definitely grows on you once he lets down his whole domineering boss facade...although that was kind of hot sometimes, too. ;)

Beautiful Bastard starts out with Chloe having an awful morning where she ends up being late for work, and her boss, Bennett...or rather Mr.Ryan (if you didn't the first time, reread that last bit and say Mr.Ryan in a deep, deep voice---yes, it's totally necessary :P), managed to make her day even worse by assigning her a work project that she is to present to him by the end of the day. Once they get in that board room though, it's much more than presenting going on. And right away a new aspect is introduced to their work relationship.

The thing that I loved about Beautiful Bastard was that while there is a lot of sex, the relationship between Bennett and Chloe is a lot more than that. There is a tonne of tension between the two of them, the sexual variety and just plain ol' stubbornness. Chloe has worked hard to get where she is at in her career, and when Bennett doesn't respect that, she doesn't take it lying down. I loved that Chloe had respect for herself because often too many women don't! Although Bennett did govern quite a bit of their relationship in the workplace, Chloe always held her own.

Although I wish there was a bit more of a build up to Chloe and Bennett's first sexual tryst, it was still a great book to read (Meaning I wish they built up the tension between the two better then the brief bit before their first time). Although they did touch back on it with flashbacks/memories later in the book....

I loved how Chloe stood up to Bennett and dished out exactly what he was giving. I couldn't put the book down from the moment I started reading it!
The sex was pretty darn hot too!
Looking forward to the next book in the series from the author :)

Know when you're reading a book and you're about to go back to it and you try to remember what was happening when you left off? I didn't have that problem with "Beautiful Bastard" because it was ninety percent shagging. "Fifty Shades" and "Bared to You" were convent literature compared to this. The writers who authored the book should work on increasing the percentage of substance for their next novel.

I loved how strong she was and smart not some feeble girl. Trying to make it in the same business as Bennett. Loved the chemistry between them and the friendship they find among the passion. Would love more!

DNF @ 16%

This book had such high hopes. I know it's a Twilight erotica fanfic. Alright. While I dislike fanfics, I still finally gave this a go. I read Fifty Shades, "the porno Twilight" and it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to seem. The characters, the plot, etc is really good.

One of my problems is the character's names as well. Everyone except the two MCs have the same names as Twilight. Bennett's father's name: Carlisle. His brother: Emmett. His mom: Esme. Emmett's wife: Rose. Alice is somewhere in there as well. Like c'mon, fanfic or not, create a family that isn't identical.

In comparison, this is not. In the very first opening pages of the book..SEX. I'm not a prude (as evident that I read Fifty Shades and willingly gave this a go) but c'mon people. It's called development. Interaction. Working up to the erotic scenes. He walked in, and right away grabbed her and the rest is history. That's pretty much how the next few chapters go as well.

8% in and I was like, this story better develop a plot of some sort. Something more than boss screws assistant.
By 16%, I know I can't finnish this.

I like romance books, erotic books are fine depending. Sex scenes do not bother me, but when the entire book is them screwing with no plot, it's aggravating. I don't want to be bored through a book, but when I'm barely through the first three chapters and I am bored out of my mind, well that's not good.

Amazes me how so many people like this series and this woman's writing. I know the other books in the series are about different characters, therefore a different story, but judging by the lack of actual story here, I'm not bothering with her other ones.

This book would make a perfect "romantic comedy" movie. I couldn't wait to read this and it was worth the wait. It had humor and a lot of steamy scenes. I loved the battle of wills between the two main characters. In most books I prefer one character to the other but, in this story it was hard to choose who I loved more...Chloe or Bennett? I recommend this one for sure!
