Product Description

After ten years of surviving as a walking, talking, living doll, Laura feels dead inside.

She has sacrificed everything for her family, marrying a man she could never love. Her husband doesn’t beat her, doesn’t berate her. He transforms her, forcing her to live as a stand-in for his long dead wife. She stays silent as piece after piece of herself disappears, willing to do anything to protect the people she loves.

When his demands go too far, she finally tells her brother the ugly truth.

Wanting to protect her without putting the rest of their family at risk, he sends her to the one place he knows she’ll be safe. He places her into the hands of his best friend, Vice President of the Savage Outlaws MC.

Once again, she is transformed into someone new; Shay.

Bowie has spent many nights dreaming about his best friend’s little sister. The reality is so much sweeter than his dreams. He wants to be more for Shay, needs to protect her, but he’s not sure if he knows how.

Can an Outlaw show her how beautiful life should be?

What a great read! This is my second book of Emily Minton's, I read Window's a little while back and loved that one too. This book had me hooked from the very first page and there wasn't a dull moment! This story had it all; Emotion, suspense, danger and steam! Not to mention a super sexy bad ass biker in Bowie. I can't wait for Tin' book and look forward to reading much more from Emily!!!

This is the first book I've read by this author. I can't say it's great and one I'll reread in the future but it was good. It had an interesting storyline that kept the pages turning but I can't give it 5 stars because I just didn't like the way Bowie treated Shay a lot of the time. For example: Bowie getting extremely pissed at her every time she got scared (scared for good reason) because she should just blindly trust that he'll protect her and never have any fear because he's insulted when she's scared.......ummm, ookay??? And wouldn't you it, she gets taken and hurt while he's protecting her. He was also really mean with both actions and words at times. In this MC there wasn't a lot of love and respect that the other members showed for their old ladies and family. Put it this way this isn't a biker club and romance that left you feeling warm and fuzzy. I realize this is about bikers and they typically aren't warm and fuzzy but this is fiction and in most MC books I've read and really liked, the hero does treat his heroine like she's his whole world and it does leave the reader feeling warm and fuzzy! Bottom line if your in a slump waiting for your fave authors to come out with another book, this is a good read that's worth reading to get you through. This is just my opinion and you may love it and not be bothered by Bowie.

The story in itself is not a bad one, that's why I give it 3 stars. But I had a hard time believing in the love story (lack of chemistry, no build up) and I couldn't find it in me to "crush" on Bowie, or relate to Shay/Laura. Plus I found Bowie disrespectful towards Shay, which was really annoying...

HASH(0xa5e51648) out of 5 stars Loved it!!! Nov. 16 2014
By Shay44 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I just finished Beautiful Outlaw and I just loved it! Im a biker girl all the way and the grittier the better. This didn't disappoint. Laura married a man to save her family. What she really didn't expect is the become someone else in the process. Marcus demands her to become Gwendolyn, his dead ex-wife. Marcus doesn't physically beat her but he does abuse her mentally which can be just as bad. But she endured to save her family. But after years of the mentally abuse, he finally gives her the ultimatium that she cannot handle anymore, she is done. She has to leave. She needs Jeremy (LOCK) her brothers help. He doesn't want anything to do with her but when she is finally able to be honest, he cant help but help his sister. He helps her fake her death and send her to the only guy that can help her....his Army buddy Bowie. He is VP of the Savage Outlaws. Bowie cannot deny his friends call so he does what he can to help. He brings her into his MC world but he doesn't expect to end up having feelings for her. She looks to him like a stuck up bitch, not the girl he remembers Jeremy talking about. But Laura is finally able to be who she was always meant to be...Shay... This is where Bowie cannot deny his feelings no more but will Marcus ever find out that Shay is alive? Will the MC club accept her with all the lies that comes their way? You will have to read and see...

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the plot, yes it is a biker book but it has the vulnerability aspect to it that had me hooked. Who doesn't love when the heroine is running from someone? It makes it an interesting storyline. It did have some predictability to it which I still enjoyed but there was also some moments where I was like "Oh Sh*T. I did loved the secondary characters. They had a lot of depth whether they were the good guys or the bad guys. They brought a lot to the table and I just cannot wait for more!

Bowie, Bowie, Bowie. He is such a damn hottie. I love biker boys. The harder they are, the harder they fall. He was no different. He was domineering and controlling yet soft when he needed to be. But what I loved most about him was loyalty to his brothers, family and then Shay. He did what he had to do to be able to keep his family safe. Shay is my girl. I felt bad for her. She really did try to save her family with what she had to do to. It was different then most stories that I have read but still heartbreaking in its own way. She really needed a type of man that would let her be her yet protect her when things got rough. I loved their chemistry. It was hot and it scorched the pages. Really made me envious!

Trust me, this was an awesome read and you will not want to put it down. I love Emily's style of writing. She puts me in the story while I read and I cant wait to see what she brings!

HASH(0xa5e5157c) out of 5 stars As 'Jen' Would Say....Doormat!!!...... Nov. 27 2014

I will start this review with what I liked about this book. I liked the chapter headings. They were creative and to the point. I liked the MC and its goings on, action, and politics. I liked how the MC members interacted with each other. I liked Bowie(H) as a member of the MC and how he conducted himself with the MC and its members. He was hardcore with a heart. The Epilogue was good. It sets you up for the next book without leaving you hanging. I liked the premise of the story. While it was not original it still kept my interest. This book ended with an HEA for the main couple, Shay(h) and Bowie(H).

Now, I will state what I did not like. Insta-love. Yep. Bowie goes from "I get them in my bed, I get them off, then I get them out of my bed." Then BOOM! He sees Shay/Laura and he says "You are mine. This pu%^y is mine." This happens in a day. Oh, and he repeats this over and over. He also states over and over "My woman" "My Pu#$y." His dialogue was so over the top dominant Alpha male that it went into the dreaded corny arena. I mean, I was hysterically laughing, tears coming out of my eyes, because his dialogue was soooo corny Alpha male. I don't think this author intended that reaction. He does not ask her what she wants, he just tells her. Within a few weeks he gives her a ring and does not ask her to marry him, no, he tells her she IS marrying him. Shay has come from a 10 year relationship with a very controlling man. This is what she is running away from. Now she lets another man control her? Okay, I am just going to have to say in the words of the infamous 200 plus 1 star reviewer, 'Jen', this chick is a DOORMAT! She is TSTL! I liked Bowie as the MC guy. I did not like him as the H as he was written. I absolutely did not like Shay. I did not like Bowie and Shay as a couple.

I was 25% into this book and I hated it. I thought about returning it. I did not because I am not that person. So I read on. I was actually more impressed with the ending. Not because I cared about the relationship between Bowie and Shay. No, because I was more interested in the members of the MC. I liked Bowie in that aspect of his character. I liked how the author portrayed the MC and its members. They were interesting and believable. I still did not like Shay or her relationship with Bowie.

Okay, now the plot issues. Who the heck was Marcus? We get no info on him. What did he look like? What were his motives? We get nothing other than he was Shay/Lauren's controlling rich husband of 10 years. Why was he so obsessive? We get no backstory on him. My next issue is a SPOILER!!! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HATE SPOILERS!!! So when Shay is kidnapped her kidnappers leave her unconscious in a bedroom untied up with a loaded gun on the night stand. Yep! A true story. I am not kidding. She is kidnapped by a 1% MC guy who leaves her unguarded in a bedroom with a loaded gun on the night stand. I am just shaking my head thinking WTF!!! Another plot issue. Shay is 18 when Marcus forces her into marriage. That was the prologue. The first Chapter begins 10 years later. So Shay should be 28 years old. Well then she is telling Bowie about all the plastic surgeries Marcus forced her to have and she states that he made her have a tummy tuck at 30 years old. Uhm...Confused here! And by the way , tummy tucks have huge scars. It is hard for me to understand how Bowie would not have noticed those scars. Oh, and why would a skinny 30 year old, who has not had any children, even need a tummy tuck?

Yes I am ranting. The multitude of 4 and 5 star reviews on this book are misleading. Yes, I know I am going to slammed here for my review. But if you are an avid MC reader, as I am, this book is lacking. I want to say to skip it. The price does not justify the content. While I did not like Bowie and Shay as a couple, I did like the MC aspects and interactions in this book. This author has great potential in this genre, but she just missed the boat on the romance part and the characters in that romance. The alpha male aspect was too far out there. Over the top. This is just my opinion. Would I recommend? No, I would not. But....give it a shot. You may like it.

HASH(0xa5f519e4) out of 5 stars great new MC series !! Dec 4 2014

This is my first Emily Minton book and I have to say I loved it !! Her writing is great and I truly enjoyed the storyline and characters. I was hooked right from the start and I enjoyed getting Laura's story and also meeting Bowie before he met Laura. I look forward to more and I am glad to have been a part of this blog tour.

Laura has spent 10 years , since she was just 18 , suffering in a horrible loveless marriage. Choosing to live this life to protect the ones she loves but only being able to take so much before she decides she has to leave. Her image and mind have been altered and screwed with so much over 10 years that she really doesn't even know who she is anymore. Turning to her brother , which is not easy , she spills her guts and begs for his help. Now that her secret is out her brother confronts her parents and gets Laura the help she needs. This help in the form of his long time friend Bowie. Bowie who just happens to be a super hot biker guy !!

Bowie is living the typical biker life. Sex , violence and more sex !! His childhood was horrible and being that his father is the club President and his mom abandoned him he never really had a good choice of what to do with his life. One woman , Nina , has been there for him and a few others as more than a mom. She has cared for these boys and earned their love and respect as well. While serving our country Bowie listened to his friend Locke talk on and on about his lil sister. Bowie new right then and then while looking at her picture that she was someone he wanted !! Years later face to face will sparks fly or flames sizzle ??

Bowie and Laura/Shay's journey is a great one. They find common ground and quickly find their chemistry is too good to deny. Very quickly Bowie claims her and although she is not 100% sure what that means Shay lets it happen. Bowie is working on some big changes for the MC and Shay is dealing with severe loss in her family. Each of these aspects of the story work great alone and also give a punch together. Bowie has a brilliant dirty mouth !! I just love him to pieces !! The way he claims her and dominates her is so different from her ex , you know he is doing it out of love and fear for her safety. There are many hurdles along the way and the book has some great action going on. I look forward to what comes next and I can tell it will be great !! Hold on tight and get your bike legs ready for a wild ride !!!!!!

HASH(0xa643e51c) out of 5 stars I love Emily Minton and her MC series Dec 3 2014
By Charlotte Lynn - Published on Amazon.com

WOW! I love Emily Minton and her MC series. I was looking for a hot alpha male with a sensitive side and that is exactly what I found in Beautiful Outlaw.

The characters are real. They are people who have had tough lives and are wanting to find more. Laura, aka Shay, is so broken that I am amazed that she can even function without being told what to do. Bowie is strong and self reliant, but really needs a woman he can trust and be with. The whores that come to the club are not the lifestyle he really wants, he just doesn’t know it until he meets Shay. As these two are forced to work together to keep Shay safe, the sparks start to fly and the passion grows. The secondary characters were just as wonderful. I am invested in Tag finding his happy everyafter, in Jeremy finding Heather, and of course in Tin finding his Old Lady.

Emily Minton writes a book that pulled me in from the first page and didn’t let go until I turned the very last page. This biker book has a great plot with lots of storylines. I cannot wait for more of the characters. I want to know what happen to everyone else and of course find out about Shay and Bowies happy ever after.

I definitely recommend this book and Emily Minton to anyone looking for a steamy hot story.

Let me start by saying that I struggled with what rating to give this book. I love the premise of this story and I enjoyed most of the characters. I was even left wanting more and looking up information of when the next book would come out so I also want to remind you, my review comes from my opinion alone and how I like a book to flow. The plot in this story was a freaking fabulous idea. I was hooked from the synopsis. For the most part the author did a fabulous job telling the story and developing the characters. My main objection to her style was the flow issue. As a beta reader for other authors I am always checking to make sure the story can be followed easily and that the scenes and chapters conclude in a proper place so the reading flow isn’t broken. I felt like there could be some tweaking done in this area of her style.

What affected my rating and disturbed me was Laura/Shay. She spent ten years with her husband in order to save her family. The stuff she endured from him was horrific. He took EVERY opportunity to make her into his deceased wife, even forcing her to take on his wife’s name. She was doing this for her family, but yet she was estranged from them. When one of her husband’s requests was just too much she reached out to her brother. This was a bit disturbing, more unrealistic than I can wrap my brain around but still intriguing.

Now her brother finds out what she is going through and helps her escape. He doesn’t feel he can care for her so he gives her to his buddy Bowie who sort of fell in love with Shay by the stories and pictures her brother shared with him. <not creepy at all here right, ok, kind of creepy but still intriguing> When Bowie sees her for the first time she is NOT the picture of the woman he imagined but he will get her help and make her his own. Once again she just does as she is told.

Bowie is in a leader in his MC and they have their own rules and codes, so to make her his, it was in my opinion harsh, alpha and not something I think she needed right then in life. Dealing with other issues involving his club and family concerns Bowie has to protect her from her husband finding her and of course you know how protective they are with anyone in their circle so there is a lot of action and suspense in the book, which I loved. So I am sure you are getting what is disturbing, when is Shay going to take this new freedom and live her life for herself? Well you will have to read the book to find out. This is why I couldn’t go below a four because the suspense and action had me hooked.

It is really impossible for me to give you more of an idea about what scenes left me scratching my head because I don’t want to ruin the story by giving spoilers away. I feel like if you are going to enjoy this book you must work at overlooking some strange occurrences and flow issues plus be very invested in the characters. I found I couldn’t stop no matter what because I needed to see how this ended for Bowie and Shay but I was frustrated a few times while reading. I would recommend this story and I do look forward to seeing what is coming next in the series but please remember that in some areas you will have to piece things together yourself and the reading flow will be disrupted at times, but you are working towards the end of a very interesting story.
