This book pulled me in to the saga of raw human anguish transformed to refreshing hope by the power of God. Cindy bares her soul in order to help others living with severe autism day by day.
I read the entire book in one day, I couldn't put it down! I enjoyed both the modern day story as well as a look into Cindy's past. I appreciate her honesty in sharing what real marriage, real motherhood, real faith & wrestling, and real caregiving for a child with autism look like. This book reminded me that true faith is trusting in God regardless of whether we get what we want from Him. Cindy is a brave and strong mama.
Just finished the book this morning. What an amazing story of a family's life journey with Autism. Cindy, husband Vance, first born autistic son Kyle and their other four children are an amazing testimony of Gods blessings and faithfulness in the midst of trials and tribulations. Their story is told in a "real" way, not sugar coated experiences but laying it all out there, the whole messiness of it all. As they come to rely fully on the Lord, He brings Beauty from Ashes. (God moved me reading this book to purchase a copy for a friend who child has be diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I pray it will be an encouragement to them.)
