Beauty And The Beast
The film that officially signaled Disney's animation renaissance (following The Little Mermaid) and the only animated feature to receive a Best Picture Oscar nomination, Beauty and the Beast remains the yardstick by which all other animated films should be measured. It relates the story of Belle, a bookworm with a dotty inventor for a father; when he inadvertently offends the Beast (a prince whose heart is too hard to love anyone besides himself), Belle boldly takes her father's place, imprisoned in the Beast's gloomy mansion. Naturally, Belle teaches the Beast to love. What makes this such a dazzler, besides the amazingly accomplished animation and the winning coterie of supporting characters (the Beast's mansion is overrun by quipping, dancing household items) is the array of beautiful and hilarious songs by composer Alan Menken and the late, lamented lyricist Howard Ashman. (The title song won the 1991 Best Song Oscar, and Menken's score scored a trophy as well.) The downright funniest song is "Gaston," a lout's paean to himself (including the immortal line, "I use antlers in all of my de-co-ra-ting"). "Be Our Guest" is transformed into an inspired Busby Berkeley homage. Since Ashman's passing, animated musicals haven't quite reached the same exhilarating level of wit, sophistication, and pure joy. --David Kronke --This text refers to the Blu-ray edition.See all Product description

I ordered it and watched the disc to be sure. It had NO region, so that instantly tipped me off that it was rip from the original. The video quality was also not as good as what the original DVD should have.
Be aware when purchasing "used" DVDs. Sometimes they are not checked for quality/authenticity BEFORE the shipper ships them.
I did contact the seller and decided not to return the DVDs because it had already been given as a gift and the quality was acceptable, if not entirely perfect.
I planned to return it, however I was unable to make it to the post office during the return window so I recently watched the 'Blu-ray' and it is very good quality video. Likely Blu-Ray quality.
The photo of the disks show 3 official Disney blue-rays bought both in store and online compared to this one, and the other photo shows the case being a lighter blue and lower quality.
Disney's legacy, to be sure, will always be respected and treasured. Thanks for the perfect video.
The quality was great. Unfortunately the Disney Rewards points had been removed from the case before we got our DVD.
Buying as a new DVD we contacted the seller. The seller is trying to offer a solution and for that we are appreciative.
At this point I would still go back to purchasing directly from Amazon instead of a seller on Amazon.
Amazon continually surprises us on how quickly they can deliver and rectify any issue that has come up in the past.
