I agree with the other reviewers that the collection is overpriced. The other big disappointment for me is that it's the album version of "It's Probably Me" that is included, rather than the radio version that was released.

If you think that Sting's solo career (after The Police) enriched his musical accomplishments, you will surely value this disc.

If you think he too often became self-indulgent, into middle-age/new-age/multicultural "middle of the road" pop (i.e., he had no band of equals to challenge/stretch him) you may want to rethink Sting as an "institution"; yeah he is that, but because he is attractive, hip, politically correct, and safe -- all poor reasons to listen to him for true music lovers... But for those who live safe, middle-aged, middle of the road, pop, go for it.

I prefer the Police -- even if they were young and simple... Their last two discs are better than anything Sting has ever done, but also look to other artists who have "aged" without self-indulgence and MOR leanings...

Having just seen Sting (along with paul Simon) live in concert, I wanted to have some kind of "Best of" album for him.

This CD set had most of my favourite tunes.

BTW...this was a terrific concert! It was one of the best I've been to in a while.

Both artists were in great form...musically undiminished.

Sting: The Best of 25 Years is a really well-assembled collection among some of his finest musical gems. Many of the songs are from both the 80's and the 90's. My top three favorite songs in this collection are "We'll Be Together", "Fields of Gold", and "Whenever I Say Your Name". "We'll Be Together" is a great musical story of meeting up with someone for a happy time. "Fields of Gold" appears to be about experiencing the feeling of joy. "Whenever I Say Your Name" is a good musical duet with Mary J Blige that seems to symbolize the strong emotional feelings of love. Sting:The Best of 25 Years is best for many who like any of the songs by Sting.
