The universe works in mysterious ways.

Well, it did for me, anyway.

It was like it knew that I needed him.

It put him in my life during a time I honestly thought I couldn’t go on.

He was broken. I was broken.

We only had one thing to offer each other – friendship.

A true, deep, incredible friendship.

Laughter fixed us.

Talking bonded us.

He quickly became my everything.

This is our story.

I can’t promise it’s always perfect.

It might make you laugh. It might make you cry. It might even make you love.

It's real.

It’s us. Besties.

5 stars.

The kids of the Jokers Wrath are getting their stories now. This is Maddox's Daughter, Molly's story. The story was well written and held my attention the whole way through.

Molly has been royally dumped by her boyfriend, Michael. She is heartbroken. She bumps into Roman who she vaguely knows and they swap phone numbers. Both have recently broken relationships and are both in a bad state. They decide to become besties. Although we don't know their ages in this book I'm assuming they are mid twenties. Both are struggling with their ex's who have not quite given them closure.
They make great friends and tell hilarious stories that had me rolling around in embarrassment for them. You get a little bit of the other members of the MC and their kids too in this book. I loved the banter and joking that went on between these two.

The story is a good representation of a bad break up and the emotions that accompanied them. It is an enjoyable read. Rather steamy in places too. That Roman knows his moves.
There will be more stories about the others in the book too. I really look forward to finding out their stories too

Title: Bestie
Author: Bella Jewel

4 unexpected stars

I haven't had a chance to read Bella Jewel's novels before, but I know that after reading Bestie, I've been missing out on something good. Although Bestie was part of the Jokers' Wrath series, I had no problem following the storyline and was intrigued - I wanted to know more about this motorcycle club and the president's daughter. Not having had read any of the previous novels, I don't have anything to compare the style of this one to the others. However, it did read differently than any other of this genre, Bestie being more on the softer side and concentrating more on the lives of Roman and Molly together rather than their lives within the club as they knew more about one another.

3 cuddle worthy dreams stars

Having met after going trhough terrible break ups, the couple must learn how to move on and trust each other. At first they become friends, able to support one another as they healed, and little by little, feelings start to develop between them. It was as frustrating as it was adorable, considering the fact that Roman was still hung up on his ex and couldn't see the deep feelings Molly had for him. Although my first novel by Bella Jewel, I'm still wildly curious to read the first novels in the series to see just how Bestie compares.

Series or Standalone: Book 5 of the Jokers' Wrath series but can be read as a standalone

This book was very highly anticipated by yours truly. When I found out that elements of this story came from the events that took place in the author's life (she had her own Bestie), I knew I had to read it. Who doesn't like something that offers a glimpse into who someone is and why? So of course I grabbed the opportunity when it came up.

Molly (daughter of Maddox) was living the good life. Amazing family, awesome friends, and a boyfriend she was happy to be in love with. That is until said boyfriend dumped her without an explanation. Heartbroken and unsure of what to do or who to turn to, along comes Roman who appoints himself as her new Bestie. Roman was broken too. After a nasty breakup, he was at a loss as to how to even move on.

So Molly and Roman helped each other out by being friends and supporting each other through their heartbreak. Unfortunately, they rebound with each other, which is obviously an easy way to further break one's heart. It didn't help that Roman was busy convincing Molly and himself that he was still very much in love with his ex. An ex that everyone, including myself, could see was undeserving of his affection and attention. I think that was the most disappointing part of the story. Although it made Roman's pain real and his actions gave his feelings some authenticity, it also made him come across as weak and pathetic. Also blind. WTH?! And Molly wasn't any better because she kept chasing after Roman while he was stuck in his confusion.

Bestie by Bella Jewel is the fifth book in her Joker's Wrath MC series. This book absolutely can be read as a standalone but it will provide spoilers about who becomes a couple from the previous books if you read them out of order.

This book was an emotional hard-hitter. Knowing that the storyline was a very personal one to the author made me approach it with much more tender respect than I would if it was just a regular creation from an author's mind. I felt I wanted to be respectful of the painful journey that formed this story. That being said - it was a fabulous story. The very beginning, the emotions that Molly is feeling post breakup is devastating and so very painfully accurate. From there it showcases Molly's strength in moving on from her own breakup and her failures when it comes to Roman's. It shows that time does heal all wounds. Sometimes not completely and sometimes more slowly than others, but time (and distance) can definitely ease the pain of heartache.

Roman was a great character too. I wanted to bop him on the head a few times with his blind acceptance of his ex's behavior. Nevertheless, he was a great character and the best of friends to Molly. never steering her wrong or leading her on and accepting the limitations when she had to distance herself.

An emotional read that had very little in the way of major drama and action but was just as filled with excitement and emotion. Sometimes a story doesn't have to be huge to be epic! Enjoy!
