Review

"Big Rock had me laughing one moment and fanning myself the next. Spencer Holiday is totally delicious and not just because he has a Big… um… well, you know.” - New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett

Product Description

It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too.
And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c&$k.
You might think I'm an as%*$le. I sound like one, don’t I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.
Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.
The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.
And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.

But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.

What the hell have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…

This is my second Lauren Blakey book. Couldn't put it down. She has a wonderful, lighthearted and hilarious writing style, her books are fast becoming a fav. This book is delightfully filled with lots if her witty humour. Written in the males perspective as Mister O [which I also recommend]. There are a few bumps enough to keep the story interesting without becoming frustrated it too heartbreaking to read, oh, can the girl write the hottest sex scenes, oh my! I'd say she is in a class of her own there, el James watch out.

If you are looking for an incredibly good read to start your year, then look no further. This is the book you want to read first. It is romantic and fun and most of the time it is simply hilarious :D Spencer is one of the funniest characters and BBFs I've ever encountered and his story is a must read.

The story reads similarly to Tangled by Emma Chase. I am not talking about the story line but the feel of the book. Told from the male POV, it is full with fun and comedic scenes, somewhat embarrassing situations, a lot of romance ans some incredibly hot scenes that will just disintegrate your panties :D It doesn't hurt that Spencer looks like a Greek god and can simply dazzle you with a smile :) And let's not forget that has an equipment that will leave you breathless and definitely knows how to use it :D So yep, Spencer is a character that you simply must meet ;)

Charlotte is pretty cool in her own right and together with Spencer, they are the perfect couple for this book. It's quite fun to read how they are trying to navigate around the mines of their changing relationship :) In addition to those two, Spencer's sister and best friend just add to the comedic factor of the book. To be honest, I can't wait to read their stories. I just know that they will be pretty fun too ;)

So if I have to summarise: THIS IS A MUST READ. Preferably, the first book you read for this year. Because if it is true that the year can be told from it's beginning, then you should expect an year full of incredible reads ;) So, don't waste any time and one click this fun and romantic read. I can guarantee that you won't regret it :)

Considering I haven't read too many books coming specifically from the male point of view, I'd say this one was pretty well done. Spencer was funny, sincere, and good lord he was blunt. Whatever was on his mind you could just about guarantee it would come out of his mouth. At the same time, I thought some of his speech and actions were a little bit on the immature or more outlandish side of things, considering his age. Our heroine, Charlotte, is a sweet, smart and sassy girl that happens to be Spencer's best friend and business partner. I wish we could've gotten a little more on her character and her feelings behind the entire scheme.

I liked this fake fiancé trope because it's also a friends to lovers. The main characters already have a solid understanding of the other and where their relationship is at. They know what will make the other smile and what can also make them tick. The essential glances and touches and flirting covered between these two - both in public and not - made their fake relationship that much more plausible.

I enjoyed the concept of coming up with rules for our main characters to follow, to ensure they could keep their friendship and not get weird. I then loved when these two continued to break every rule, consciously, while falling deeper for the other. They knew that things would change whether they were willing to accept it or not but simply couldn't give up what they had, so they ignored their feelings and tried to maintain the pretence of following the rules. Along those lines, guys can be really, really dense. I thought it was really sweet when Spencer finally realized not only that he had romantic feelings for Charlotte, but just how deep they stemmed within him.

Holy F!!! That was hot! I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!! Oh my God. Lauren Blakely sure knows how to deliver a steamy, sexy and fun read! From the moment I saw the first teaser for Big Rock, I NEEDED IT. BAD. Oh. So. Bad. I couldn’t keep my slutty mind off of this book...I dreamed of it, counting down the days until it arrived on my kindle! I knew the minute I started reading I wouldn’t be able to stop.

SPENCER!!! Ahhhh! I wanted to devour him. God. Jesus. Holy hell. I wanted to dive through my kindle and rub myself all over him and his big rock. He is one fine man. He’s sexy, funny and sweet. He’s kind, loving and beautiful. Seriously, if I had a dick, it would be hard for this man! TWENTY. FOUR. SEVEN.

Spencer and Charlotte. Ohhhh! I absolutely adore these two! The flirty banter between them had me laughing and smiling constantly. The chemistry and the sexy scenes....Holy hell! I swear to God I could FEEL the sparks hit me in all the right places. I might actually have some singed body parts! Damn. The way he talks to her is so, so good, delicious and dirty he had my fun box on FIRE! Phew! I seriously considered putting it in the freezer. No joke! But this story wasn’t just about the sexy times. I could feel the love between these two. And as I type this I have tears of joy for this book. I loved it so darn hard. I feel...true love. Mad love. BIG love for this quirky romance. I did not want it to end. EVER. I smiled and swooned page after page.

I fell in love with this book from line one. This story could not be any more perfect. Lauren’s seductive and brilliant writing stole my heart, made my body tingle and left me satisfied in all the best ways possible.
