Product Description

I read "The Biology of Belief" when it first came out. It was a pioneering book and gave a much needed scientific framework for the mind/body/spirit connection. Bruce s insights and research created the basis of the epigenetic revolution that is now laying the foundation for a consciousness-based understanding of biology. We are all indebted to him.

Deepak Chopra, M.D., F.A.C.P., co-author with Rudolph Tanzi of "Super Genes: Unlock the Astonishing Power of Your DNA for Optimum Health and Well-Being"

Bruce Lipton s book is the definitive summary of the new biology and all it implies. It is magnificent, profound beyond words, and a delight to read. It synthesizes an encyclopedia of critical new information into a brilliant yet simple package. These pages contain a genuine revolution in thought and understanding, one so radical that it can change the world.

Joseph Chilton Pearce, Ph.D., author of "Magical Child" and "Evolution s End"

Bruce Lipton s delightfully written "The Biology of Belief" is a much needed antidote to the bottom-up materialism of today s society. The idea that DNA encodes all of life s development is being successfully employed in genetic engineering. At the same time, the shortfall of this approach is becoming evident. "The Biology of Belief" is a review of a quarter-century of pioneering results in Epigenetics, heralded by "The Wall Street Science Journal" in mid-2004 as an important new field. Its personal style makes it eminently readable and enjoyable.

Karl H. Pribram, M.D., Ph.D., (Hon. Multi), professor emeritus, Stanford University

Dr. Lipton is a genius. His breakthrough discoveries give us tools for regaining the sovereignty over our lives. I recommend this book to anyone who is ready and willing to take full responsibility for themselves and the destiny of our planet.

LeVar Burton, actor and director

Bruce Lipton offers new insights and understanding into the interface between biological organisms, the environment and the influence of thought, perception, and subconscious awareness on the expression of one s body healing potential. Well-referenced explanations and examples make this book a refreshing must read for the student of the biological, social, and health care sciences. Yet the clarity of the author s presentation makes it an enjoyable read for a general audience.

Carl Cleveland III, D.C., President, Cleveland Chiropractic College

Dr. Lipton s revolutionary research has uncovered the missing connections between biology, psychology, and spirituality. If you want to understand the deepest mysteries of life, this is one of the most important books you will ever read.

Dennis Perman, D.C., co-founder, The Master s Circle

In this paradigm-busting book, Bruce Lipton delivers a TKO to Old Biology. With a left to Darwinian dogma and a right to allopathic medicine, he breaks out of the physicalist box into enlightenment on the mind/body (belief/biology) system. Must read, much fun.

Ralph Abraham, Ph.D., professor of mathematics, University of California; author of "Chaos, Gaia, Eros"

Powerful! Elegant! Simple! In a style that is as accessible as it is meaningful, Dr. Bruce Lipton offers nothing less than the long sought after missing link between life and consciousness. In doing so, he answers the oldest questions and solves the deepest mysteries of our past. I have no doubt that "The Biology of Belief" will become a cornerstone for the science of the new millennium.

Gregg Braden, best-selling author of "The God Code" and "The Divine Matrix"

I finished reading this book with the same sense of profound respect I have when I am with Bruce Lipton that I have been touched by a revolutionary sense of the truth. He is both a scientist and a philosopher; a scientist in that he provides us with tools to alter cultural consciousness and a philosopher because he challenges our beliefs about the very nature of our perceived reality. He is helping us create our own futures.

Guy F. Riekeman, D.C., President, Life University and College of Chiropractic

"The Biology of Belief" is a milestone for evolving humanity. Dr. Bruce Lipton has provided, through his amazing research and in this inspiring book, a new, more awakened science of human growth and transformation. Instead of being limited by the genetic or biological constraints that humanity has been programmed to live by, humanity now has before it a way of unleashing its true spiritual potential with the help of simply transformed beliefs guided by the gentle and loving hand of God. A definite must read for those dedicated to the mind/body movement and to the true essence of healing.

Dr. John F. Demartini, best-selling author of "Count Your Blessings" and "The Breakthrough Experience"

In a world of chaos, Dr. Lipton brings clarity to mankind. His work is thought-provoking, insightful, and will hopefully lead people to ask better quality questions in their lives and to make better decisions. One of the most exciting books I have read, this is a must read.

Brian Kelly, D.C., President, New Zealand College of Chiropractic; President, Australian Spinal Research Foundation

Finally, a compelling and easy-to-understand explanation of how your emotions regulate your genetic expression! You need to read this book to truly appreciate that you are not a victim of your genes but instead have unlimited capacity to live a life overflowing with peace, happiness, and love.

Joseph Mercola, D.O., Founder of www.mercola.com, world s most visited natural-health site

This book is an absolute must read if you want to know, from a scientific viewpoint, that your lifestyle is in control of your health rather than your genetics. From a scientific viewpoint, Lipton demonstrates that the mind is more powerful than drugs to regain our health. The information reveals that your health is more your responsibility than just being a victim of your genes. When I started reading this book, I could not stop until it was finished.

M. T. Morter, Jr., D.C., founder, Morter Health System; developer of the B.E.S.T. Technique" --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Dr. Lipton explains cellular biology in a clear and easily understood text. This book should be required reading for all 1st year bio or biochem majors. Dr. Lipton successfully rebukes the dogma of the DNA in our genes as having the ultimate control over our biology and our lives. Epigenetics is definitely the new and more significant focus of cellular biology. As a practicing physician the fact that diet trumps genes, (in fact diet, exercise, lifestyle, attitude and environment trumps genes) is an absolutely liberating fact and should be for all other doctors and their patients in these times of ever increasing rates of chronic disease. Dr. Lipton's scientific foundation is solid and for anyone interested in practicing medicine according to epigenetics where genotype does not necessarily lead to chronic disease-phenotype,I suggest that they contact the Institute of Functional Medicine for their clinical course material. As for Lillian's review, hmmm, simply put, I think she missed the point.

Finally, a book that provides some scientific insights as to how our thoughts can affect the physical body. With Dr. Lipton's knowledge on cellular biology, it brings to light a brand new understanding of how the body operates.
In layman's terms, Dr. Lipton is able to use cellular biology and quantum physics to explain the inner workings of our cells and how our environment turns our genes 'on' and 'off'. This theory may also provide an explanation on how alternative disciplinaries such as energy work, massage and homeopathic medicine help in promoting health.
The Epilogue is especially insightful as Dr. Lipton explains the relationship between spirit and science. I have always find it difficult to understand mind-bloggling spiritual sayings such as 'we are made in the image of the Universe/God' or 'we are all ONE', as well as the true meaning of 'self'. Dr. Lipton uses lively examples and easy-to-understand wording to explain these spritual notions with a scientific touch to them.
A very intriguing book to read. There is now more evidence that we do have a say in controlling our own health physically, mentally, emotionally as well as spiritually.
A must read for alternative health practitioners!

This is one of the two most pivotal books I have read in the past decade - and I am an avid reader. Lipton adhers to solid scientific methodology and presents his theories and conclusions in a most readable fashion. Lipton has lived his story, has transformed many lives, and presents this critical new discovery in an entertaining fashion. I look forward to a world that accepts epigenetics as an essential science and that builds on this knowledge to create an evolved healthcare system.

Well it's about time! For those of you who have been plagued by the dogma of DNA (genetic determinism or fatalism) will find this book beyond inspiring! We have been told by western biology that the DNA is the at the heart of who we are, with the DNA in the cell nucleus being the brain of what activates and makes the cell function and control the rest of the body's activities. From this model (actual called the 'DOGMA OF DNA' in Biology teachings) ALL life is DNA in motion and we are genetic beings with all our diseases and traits (physical & mnetal) pre-determined. This model/paradigm has become a key part of the very structured and defined mechanistic biological pharmaceutical medicine we see domniating the West today (sigh).
BUT in this book Lipton has flipped this notion upside with the profound discovery that the DNA in the nucleus is in fact is NOT the brain or determining factor of the body. Lipton deconstructs the dogma by showing the mem-BRANE of the cell is the brain that is driving and determining the cells activities which equal the rest of the body and its functions. The key here is the signals that are recieved by the cells mem-BRANE. These signals consist of input from the environment but mainly the thoguhts of the individual. He shows that when we become response-able and can pro-actively use our thoughts to cohere with the cells activities we have profound influence over their behavior. THOUGHTS INFLUENCE BIOLOGY, now who chooses your thoughts?? When one controls the signals they control the cells and this changes everything we thought we knew about cell, the human body and ultimately dis-ease.
I found this book to be an important piece of the 'beyond the BLEEP' new science information that truly shows how 'our thoughts control our reality'.

The research and description of the cell, especially the cell membrane, and how outside influences play the major role in gene activation helped me see the topic more clearly since I had come across the idea before. The chapter on the effects of stress on the mind, body and cell activity was also exceptional and I learned new information that helps to reiterate that stress reduction is very important. I had come across the importance of stress reduction via the research and explanation of the meditation and breathing program Éiriú Eolas which I have been practicing for some time.

The author in another chapter describes how as children we are programmed with habits, beliefs and that as adults we are reactions machines just playing back these programs. I found the description spells out the state of the individual pretty well. I'm not sure if the author is aware of the teachings and work of G. I. Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff laid out this fact in a full explanation of the subject over 70 years ago. The book `In Search of the Miraculous' I think gives the best and fullest version of Gurdjieff's Fourth Way teachings and is an in depth description of man as a reaction machine, so if you find the chapter interesting you will want to continue on to Gurdjieff. It's interesting to find that science with its discovery of the adaptive unconscious, see the book `Strangers to Ourselves' for a full treatment of the subject, that is mentioned by the author is just now catching up to Gurdjieff and what I see as the best explanation for the actions and state of man as a whole.
