Product Description

Riley Campbell is no stranger to loss. After losing her father in a car accident at a young age, she decides to forfeit her relationship with her mother to move in with an older man at the age of 17. Four years later, after ending the relationship with the man for physically abusing her, she feels the need for a celebratory tattoo; her first of what she expects to be many. Her expectations of the parlor, the artist, and the process are pretty weak as she walks in.

Upon entering, she’s pleasantly surprised.

Covered in tattoos, handsome, mysterious, and muscular, Blake West is not at all what Riley expected to find, but exactly what she feels she needs.

Blake is the mysterious owner of Blurred Lines, a tattoo parlor that not only has provided him with a steady income, but in the past supplied a steady stream of women into his life. Now, however, things for him are much different. Blake is a recovering sex addict, and professes being faithful. Details of his sordid past, however, are sketchy at best.

As he begins the process of tattooing her for the first time, she feels an almost addiction to the process, the feeling of being tattooed, the ink on her skin, and ultimately, Blake.

As the tattooing of Riley continues, so does her knowledge of Blake. Life-long secrets unveil themselves, and as they do, she realizes not only how much they are alike, but the truth surrounding her father’s death.

“Everyone has secrets; revealing them is simply a matter of finding out where to dig.”

AUTHORS NOTE: HEA, stand-alone, no cheating, no sex outside the relationship.

Blurred Lines is a stand-alone erotic romance and the first book in the Bodies Ink and Steel series. It has an HEA, no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and no sharing of partners. The only sex is between the hero and the heroine.

So I was thinking about this book and what I was thinking was, I should wait until morning to write my review...but I need to do it now while it's fresh in my head.
As everyone knows, I think Scott Hildreth is a genius. I adore his writing, his writing style and well, him as a writer. Every book he writes gets even better every single time! This book was no surprise to me at how exceptional it is. I loved it. This book is good old fashion Scott Hildreth. This book is what I loved about Scott Hildreth's writing from the very beginning. This book is exactly why I fell in love with the writings of Scott Hildreth. From every book of SH's that I have read, I ALWAYS take away some sort of life lesson. This book? It's simple...Happenstance.
I believe in happenstance. I believe this is what this book is all about. Everything that happened to Blake in his life and everything that has happened in Riley's, it brought them together. It brought them to where they end up. I loved this love story. I loved the trials along the way. I absolutely loved that this book wasn't all about sex. It was about ordinary people leading ordinary lives. It was about how they found each other and waited for one another, and excepted one another for who they are.
I am really hoping that Stevie gets her own book next! We all love a hard a$$!!
As usual Mr. Hildreth, I don't know how you keep doing it, but once again...thank you for sharing your masterpiece with us. I loved it!

A first for me by this author, it won’t be the last.
Okay Blake, I was a little confused with him until you get to know him and why he is the way he his. I thought he was a little standoffish. I get why now, but you see the spark between him and Riley right away. You just know it’s going to be good.

Am I the only one that kind of liked Tyler? Well until he was an … (amazon). But I was digging him. I did wonder why Riley didn't interact with him like at all. Especially in the first tattoo meeting, it felt like Blake was just repeating what Tyler was saying. I didn't really understand that part. But over all I wanted to see more Tyler…

Riley thank goodness for getting out of a (amazon) relationship!! It’s just to bad it took her so long but it can’t be easy when that’s kind of all you know.
I flove her momma, we totally need a book where she gets a HEA, who knows maybe it’s already written and I just don’t know about it. I would like to see her with one of the bikers, 39 is NOT old!! So yes I want more HEA’s lol.

This book deals with some pretty big issues. I like how it wasn't swept under the rug but it wasn't the main focus of the book either it was more about over coming and finding a true connection. He didn't dwell on his past he was just living his life the best way he knew how and then Riley walks in, and changes his life for the better. 

P.S. Un (amazon) review on Goodreads.

SD Hildreth starts a new series Bodies, Ink and Steel with Blurred Lines. It takes place in Kansas with ties to Selected Sinners MC series by both Blake West and Riley Campbell. Riley has finally gotten out of an abusive relationship at 21 that started when she was a teen. She has no friends and only her Mother. She decides to get a tattoo and finds a place she feels she can walk into.
Blurred Lines is Blake West passion and life. He always does one off tattoos that he spends time to develop with his clients. Blake has no family or friends. He is seeing a therapist for issues both real and imagined. His life flows between an anguished reality and imagined events used to make his life seem explainable to himself.
Riley and Blake are drawn together as they work on Riley’s ink. The lines of their lives are a surprise that keep intercepting as they grow closer. They both find that they trust the other and grow stronger with each support given. “It appeared Blake was as ready as I was for whatever we decided to do.”
The start of Blurred Lines is confusing but you quickly find that both of the main characters are living with this confusion. Once they are together and their lives are revealed in the back and forth Points of Views you settle in with the story. SD Hildreth is always going to use gritty angst and twist in his storytelling and boy does he have it in this story. The new aspect to his storytelling is the number of times Blake and Riley’s life storylines intersect; first at sadder points and then in strength building points. If you have read the Selected Sinners series you will want to read this to see what the MC family is doing. This can be read along as the MC series could.
