Normally, I am not too keen on reading 'Intrigue' novels, simply because the number of suspects is limited to the people introduced and described in the front of the book, minus the hero and heroine of the story, of course. That generally does not leave much room for mystery and suspense, simply because the baddy or baddies has, of course, got to be one of those. So, the less people listed, the smaller the 'pool of suspects'.
What sets this particular story aside is the fact that it is set on a small island which limits the amount of people present, nonetheless, there is still plenty of mystique as to what exactly is going on. Add to that the fact that the hero and heroine have a history together - and very common, every day issues - and you have got a good storyline right up front.
Jessica Andersen spins a wonderful tale out of these components with plots and subplots intermingling perfectly, making this book a compelling read indeed.

My wife and I love medical suspense and we couldn't put it down. Dr. Metcalf, an epidemiologist, returned home when his cousin wrote to him about an epidemic in his home on Lobster Island; and Dr. Tansy Whitmore (his ex-lover) stubornly follows. Then, trying to save the lifes of their patients, and running for their lifes; they'll need to find the killer and prevent him from contaminating the main source of the Island's water.

Intriguing story as two doctors rush to save the residents of Lobster Island right before a Hurricane hits, they are not successful at first as the body count climbs but they eventually put the clues together. Dr Metcalf one of the hero's of the story has issues and he must solve the mystery of his past before he can move forward. Really enjoyed the story
