The bon appetit editors/publishers have out done themselves with this one! Over the years, I have collected most of the bon appetit cookbooks and this, by far, is their best.
Before paying for more expensive cookbooks, if available, I will review & test some of the recipes by first accessing the books through our local, digital library system. After doing just that, I bought "bon appetit Desserts" and haven't once regretted it.
With a few exceptions, most recipes call for ingredients the majority of home cooks keep in our pantry inventory. The editors have used a whisk icon, giving a cook opportunity to assess whether or not the recipe is within his/her skill set. One whisk = easy, and so on. Both recipe ingredients and methods are laid out in logical sequence.
Bon appetit has always made an effort to teach, allowing their books to be used as instructional manuals. However, they have had a reputation of not always being user friendly by the average home cook. With this edition, the editors have presented a cookbook that has broken that previous mold.
Nice selection of recipes suited to all seasons and ALL cooks.
