Borderlands 2 is a hybrid First-Person Shooter, RPG game focused on over-the-top co-op play, and set in the open-world game environment of the planet Pandora. Over-the-Top 'Shoot and Loot' Action Returns

Borderlands 2, sequel to the critically acclaimed and best selling role-playing-shooter hybrid, once again delivers its unique flavor, characters and addictive nonstop collaborative loot-shoot gameplay. As in the original game, Borderlands 2 features an openworld game environment, but this time around the world players experience is larger and packed with more depth at all levels. The game features an all-new cast of characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons, and equipment that come together in a carefully crafted and connected story. Make new friends, arm them to the teeth and fight alongside them on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption through the undiscovered and unpredictable living world of Pandora.

Key Game Features

  • All-New Characters and Classes - Choose from all new characters and classes including the Gunzerker, who can dual-wield any two weapons in the game. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course. Dual sniper rifles? sure, if that’s your thing.
  • Play Online with Friends - Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN through a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game.
  • World Connected Story - Left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora, begin your quest of revenge and redemption as the story drives you closer to the Hyperion Corporation and its evil founder, handsome Jack.
  • New Badass Gun System - Millions upon millions of possible weapons means tons of new and innovative ways to engage foes on Pandora. Fire, electricity, corrosive acid, and more will all be at your disposal.
  • 87 Bazillion...Everything - It's not just guns on Pandora, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, alien artifacts, class mods and much, much more.
  • Brand-new Environments - From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, discover more of the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn.
  • Brand-new Enemies - Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory stalkers and the hyperion mechanical army, run by handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies you will face.

I was a big fan of Borderlands, so I pre-ordered the sequel, and I was not disappointed.

Its Borderlands again, but everything is better.

The skill trees, the guns, the environments and the enemies have all been vastly improved in quantity and quality. But this was sort of expected.

What really stood out as a pleasant surprise was the care given to the story. The game is packed full of genuinely funny and witty dialogue. The main plot isn't exactly unique, but its interesting and really moves the story along. I never felt bored or unmotivated. Also all of the playable characters are given a back-story that can be uncovered with a little exploring.

Speaking of, this is one of those rare games that truly seems to reward diligent exploring. I found a large chest by falling off a bridge and landing on a nearly invisible out crop, who does that anymore? It was awesome.

Finally, and most importantly, I played this game with some friends. It was created for multiplayer. It may be fun solo, but I think it won't compare to the full party experience.

This game truly feels that the developers poured their hearts and souls into it, and I think if you have any interest at all, you should give it a go.

This game is fun, clever, challenging and amusing to play. The cartoonish graphics fit the subject and style of the game perfectly, and humor permeates everything from the look to the sound to the design of the missions. The environment design is top-notch, with well thought-out areas that are fun to explore and fight through.

And, of course, everything is doubly fun when you play co-op with other people.

If you don't like opening hundreds of containers to see if you can collect that special item, or scouting around for secrets, or appreciating an attempt at clever and whimsical writing and voice acting around all the mayhem, then this game is not for you.

But if you like virtually shooting things, treasure hunting and giggling, sign in, you won't be sorry.

Borderlands 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor,B-1.Both games exhibit, great graphics, neat, engaging and oft times funny storyline, but the frustration factor?....it's a whopping 10 out of 10! Not only have they, once more, put respawning ports FAR too far away from where one might get killed( I cannot stand walking miles back to where I was killed to start again, and again, and again),but they have gone so far as to make some of the ultimate baddies, impossible to kill,by yourself. In B-1 it was the Giant Claptrap and a huge monster out Moxie's way, whose name I forget. Here it is the Terramorphus Peak monster. This is a huge Thresher like creature that comes out of the ground,ANYWHERE.It is of no consequence that there are a few large rocks sticking out of the ground. The thing can hit you as you stand behind it,and once it hits you, often times you go flying over the peak, die and have another long and frustrating walk back to get into the arena again! There is NO killing that thing,in the single player mode, and that is dead wrong. With one's resultant rising XP level, one's skills and weaponry should reflect that and get stronger as one progresses, not stay the same.I have maxxed out everything I know as far as shields and health go;I have an over 50,000 shield and over 60,000 health rating. That should be more than enough to take care of anything, you would think.Any other game I have played would have given me,at this point, the top skills. But not B-2.It tells you in the guide that this a FOUR man challenge!???And if you don't have the guide, how are you to know? And I should have the option of who I play or don't play with, shouldn't I?Don't get me wrong,I play on line with peeps all the time, but there are just some games, like this one,I like to play by myself,at least first.
So buyers beware.

This game is excellent in solo mode. There are endless quests, opponents, guns, and surprises to find. The graphics have been updated and look great. The flaws, in co-op mode, when the person hosting the game quits, everyone gets kicked out. The server doesn't try and migrate hosts, it just ends. Also, when you start from your co-op save point, half the time you start with a different gun you never had (or wanted) and on a different quest. I find i miss alot of secret spots and containers this way and it bothers me. But other than the flaws mentioned above, the gameplay in general is fun and hard to put down. If you are not big on co-op playing, or are playing with people you know and will let you know when they're ending the game, this game will be worth the money.

I picked this game up on a whim, mainly for the co-op mode - it's fun to play solo, but this game is definitely made for the group experience, and I get way more out of it when I play with friends. I wasn't expecting much because it's not my usual game style, but I was amazed at how much I enjoy it. It's a fantastic open world concept that rewards you for exploration, with just enough storyline and plot for someone like me, who leans more toward plot and character than running and gunning. The voice acting is pretty fantastic, and they put a lot of thought into the pop culture references - I have almost as much fun waiting to see what references I can catch as I do with the game play.
