The long sides have 36" bamboo dowels inside the sleeves, and the one on the back is 24". Overall I think the size is good, even thought that seems to be an issue for some. Much bigger and it would be pretty hard to wield into a bag. Actually I would give this 4-5 stars for my particular need if it didn't seem like it had been made 20 years ago.
I used it today for the, first time, and on the very first load I grabbed the edge of one of the sides to help maneuver it into the bag and it broke. More like disintegrated. Seriously. A little puff of powder came out of the end. I pulled an inch or so of the, dowel out to look at it, and I have never seen such pathetic looking bamboo. Dry rot maybe. It literally crumbled in my fingers.
I was using it to clean leaves and seed pods off of several flat roofs and in spite of the one, then both dilapidated sides it still made my job a whole lot easier than it has been previously, but it was bad enough for me to make sure I got on here to give a heads up to potential customers ASAP.
Not sure I'll bother returning or exchanging it because it's easy enough just to buy 3 dowels (and cut a foot of of one), but if I wanted to go through that I would have just made one of these myself out of an old tarp.
I should also point out that I am pretty sure I got an older model too because the one I got is very dark green and doesn't have the second handle on the short side. The tarp material seems pretty dated too.
Other than all that The design itself is perfect for my needs. Just wish the execution was better.
