Product Description

Existence is more than just a word, it’s a state of being. More importantly, it’s my state of being. Day by day I go through the motions of living—eat, breathe, work, sleep.

When I finally get some help at work it comes in the form of Nathan Thorne. He’s sexy, cocky, arrogant, an asshole, and total bullshit.

I see through the façade to the turbulent man beneath, but I’m not the only one who can see through masks.

One late night the tension between us explodes, starting a lust filled craving for each other. All it takes is that night and his dirty talking mouth, and I’m his.

Now sex is in the mix. Violent and dirty and passionate and everything I need to fill the void inside me but one thing is missing—he can never love me.

It’s not enough for me to leave, even though I know I should.

More than my heart is on the line, and I don’t know if I’ll survive our breach.

Oh my word!!! I simply have no words to describe how great this books was. Okay, I do lol. Amazingly disturbing, steamy, erotic, shocking, heartbreaking, loving, mesmerizing, captivating. Just to name a few.

I did shed a few tears, I have to admit. But I loved the concept and the story was brilliantly written and I love a book that makes me feel emotions and I certainly did with this one.

The disturbing truth is, I love a dirty sexy alpha in a seamy read who is damaged, but not only was ( Nathan ) broken and damaged but the leading lady ( Dahlia ) was as well. Both struggling with their past and unknowingly have more in common with each other than they first realized.

Nathan tries desperately to ignore his need to devour and pursue Dahlia, but her need for him is greater. And their chemistry is to overwhelmingly powerful to ignore for long.

Their relationship is disturbing and sad in a way and yet their chemistry and sexual appetite is delicious, with Nathan's sexy dirty mouth being a real turn on for me. His mouth is omg!!! deliciously dirty.

I have to say that this book won't be everyone's cup of tea, but the storyline was beyond captivating and I will certainly be reading the next book ASAP!

Review of Breach (Breach #1) by K.I. Lynn

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Delilah Palmer has always been told she is useless and ugly growing up. She is reserved and doesn't believe she deserves love. Continually striving to be loved, she can't seem overcome her lack of self-esteem.

Working as a lawyer at Holloway and Holloway, Lila throws herself into work. She doesn't let herself have time for anything else. That is how she wants it.

That is until the unbelievably new coworker shows up. He is a sex-god. She can't help herself but be attracted to Nathan Thorne.

Nathan Thorne has been through hell. He can't allow himself to love anyone for fear they might get hurt because of him. As hard as he tries, he cannot stay away from Lila. They connect in a way neither of them has ever felt before.

They both have such dark secrets that either of them can break at anytime.

This book was a little slow at first. There was a lot of hot sex but not too much of a storyline. As the book progressed, so did the plot line and the story really picked up. Once I learned more about Lila and Nathan, I really enjoyed it.

The book ends with quite a cliffhanger and I am anxiously waiting to read book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Characters July 16 2017
By Renee - Published on Amazon.com

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Breach is the first book in K.I. Lynn's Breach Series. It is a story that is complex and a little on the dark side.

Lila isn't living she is only existing. She has had a terrible past that no child should every have to live through. She was told daily just how worthless she was and that no one would ever want her by her father and his other family and it stuck with her and she has never overcome this. She has a job as a lawyer and loves it as she transposes contracts and doesn't have to deal with people which suits her just fine. Until the day a new guy is hired and they have to share an office. From the second Lila and Nathan's eyes meet they each know that the other is truly not living. Nathan's past is mainly the big mystery in the book and it is pieced together as you read the book. As their attraction grows Nathan fights it with everything he has as he feels no one should ever get attached to him. He will only cause them harm and his taste in the physical sense are on the extreme side. However together Delilah and Nathan can either heal or only cause each other more harm. Which will end up being the result?

This book had me from the very beginning. Lila's story will break your heart into a million pieces. I can not even imagine how someone can treat their child the way Delilah has been treated. And she has taken all the negative things and believes them just as anyone would. Nathan on the other hand is a bigger mystery but I loved him. He captured my heart and as a couple I loved them together but knew they needed some serious help if they were ever going to make it. This book is filled with hidden secrets and mystery and some pretty dark things that have happened. And there is a lot of scorching moments from the beginning of the book. It is a lot but I didn't let that distract from the story because I understood why it was happening so much. You will too when you read the book so don't let that make you put the book down.

Breach is a book so worth reading and the second you are done you will want to dive into Infraction. K.I. Lynn has created two characters your not soon to forget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ugly crying..... Sept. 16 2013
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I am going to start by admitting outright, I was crying over this book and I am pretty sure it was ugly crying, but I DIDN'T CARE!!!! I was drawn into the story right from the start when Lila removed her ripped pantyhose in full view of Nathan. I was sucked into this story so badly, that when it ended, I was still crying, but managed to download "Dissolution" and "Infraction" and dove right into them. The tears did not stop until halfway through "Infraction". I will even admit to letting my daughter watch all the TV she wanted yesterday so I could read.

What was the draw? Oh, wow, the raw and primal attraction between Lila and Nathan, the intensity and fury of their hot, hot coupling, but underlined by a growing emotional connection, tentative and frail in the beginning, whispy, almost vaporous but gaining in strength and solidity as "Breach" unfolded. Nathan's agony, the source of which was mostly unrevealed was palpable and Lila's pain was like a knife wound in my heart and my gut. The verbal interaction between them was strong, profane and not for the those sensitive to coarse language. Somehow it fit these two and was not a distraction, at least to me.

Thankfully, I had no wait for "Infraction", I am not sure I would have been able to stand it.

I feel some of the pain coming back, writing about "Breach", so I will stop here and advise you to READ THIS STORY!! It was pretty much indescribably excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable emotional journey. Aug. 20 2016
By Helen - Published on Amazon.com

I loved K.I. Lynn's book Six so much that I decided to read this. Normally, I would not choose a book about lawyers. I tend to like very bad boys as heroes and lawyers somehow don't fit that picture for me. I did actually end up enjoying this book although it does not come close to how much I enjoyed Six. This book centers more on the emotions and emotional scars of the characters than on action and adventure. It made for a great emotional journey and despite the lack of action I was never bored. Nate and Lila do have a lot of sex but the author did a good job of making each scene different and compelling for the plot and not just on and on with the same words and phrases. Overall I felt like this was worth reading but if you are trying to decide between this and Six choose Six.
4.0 out of 5 stars First half was tolerable, second half was great April 29 2016
By Michelle - Published on Amazon.com

I had a little bit of a rough start with this book in the first half. I began this book a really long time ago, and while Nathan and Delilah are hot, hot, hot, I didn't quite connect to either one of them initially because there was so much physical happening and not enough emotional between them to tether me in. Halfway through, I put the book down for a long time and didn't come back to it until recently. But when I dived back in recently, I couldn't put it down because then it started going where I wanted it to. There is a gritty feel to the story and Nathan is probably one of the absolute dirtiest talkers out there that I have ever read about. The book is in Delilah's POV and she's the sort of girl who is hiding behind the curtain of her own hair at work at her law firm everyday and seldom socializes, keeping to herself and trudging through her routine. She's basically a shell of a woman due to her past where she was conditioned into thinking that she is worthless. Nathan is hired on at her law firm and they share an office space together, so there's no way that they don't notice each other except both of them are extremely guarded. Nathan has a past, too, but the details of it are not known, so all that Delilah sees is how extremely sexy, confident and intelligent he is, thinking she is out of his league, but Nathan keeps everyone at a distance. There's also a strict non-fraternization rule at work.

Initially, I had a bit of trouble reconciling Delilah's low self-esteem and her craving for depraved dirty talk when she lets herself go. But as the story progresses and I finally developed a much better understanding of both Nathan and Delilah, I could accept it as a part of their relationship without blinking because it worked for them and it's what Delilah both needed and wanted. Even if Nathan wasn't offering his heart to her, he could still read her better than anyone.

When the story was finally turning a corner in the direction that I wanted to see the characters develop, it picked up quite a bit in its momentum. I loved the emotions pouring out and discovering more about the real Nathan, because a tortured soul is someone I can get on board with very easily and both Nathan and Lila are broken on the inside. With both of their vulnerabilities baring themselves, I was finally hooked and had to see where things would go next because it was obvious they both have enormous issues to work through. As for that ending, I need to see if this will finally lead into the secrets of Nathan's past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy Dirty Mouth!!! April 20 2014
By Amazon Reviewer - Published on Amazon.com

Rating: 4.5 stars

I feel like I need something to cleanse my eyes and brain from Nathan Thorne’s dirty mouth. I was squirming in my seat in both repulsion and fascination while I read the words he said to Lila while they were getting down and dirty. If you like some aggressive dirty talk, this is totally the book for you! I feel both ashamed and elated that I enjoyed it so much ;)

Lila Palmer wears a mask to hide the years of hate and pain inflicted on her by the people who were supposed to love her. She works in a prestigious law firm where she is able to maintain control over her life and the façade she has put into place. She works hard, has few friends and hasn’t really been able to maintain relationships. Her life was simple, boring, but simple. Until Nathan Thorne walked into her office.

As a new addition to her law firm, Nathan is Lila’s office mate. He is sexy, charming, quiet and a bit of an ass. Lila is not immune to him, but she is one of the few women not throwing herself at him like all the others in the Boob Squad (nickname for the women who parade themselves in front of Nathan). It wasn’t until one night that the two get into a bickering match that leads to hard, hot wall sex in their office.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about this book. Lila’s past was severely traumatic – filled with hateful words, violence and constant berating. I felt pain for her with every memory, every flinch, every flashback. However, Nathan changed something in her. She was awakened, she felt wanted, she felt needed, she felt desired – all things she has never felt in her life before.

Okay so I mentioned Nathan’s dirty talk… Gah what is wrong with me that I loved it – SO.FREAKING.HOT!!! In all seriousness thought, I did have some reservations about them when it came to Lila though. Lila has grown up hearing horrible things said to her, so it was hard for me to wrap my head around the benefits of Nathan calling her a dirty whore or slut all while being bitten, bruised and manhandled. Their sex life was not sweet nor soft. It was hard, rough and passionate.

I’m not judging. No, that’s not true, I am judging. It is obvious Nathan had something that Lila needed. I could see the improvements in her the more time they spent together and I was thrilled for her! I just don’t know if I loved the idea of this. But in some ways, it felt counter intuitive. I had a hard time understanding how being treated horribly in bed was a good thing. However, it didn’t make me like this book less – it just made me question how healthy their relationship really is.

And then there was Nathan. Talk about an enigma. He may be hot, he may be sexy, but this man has ISSUES – anger issues, aggression issues, sharing issues and the list goes on. It took a while to warm up to him because of this. I could tell how much he wanted Lila, but then he would not only push her away, he would throw her away. However, I knew it was for a reason. I knew he was trying to do the right thing and was warring with himself. And I knew he WANTED her and felt something for her. But he had secrets, secrets he didn’t want to share with anyone, let alone Lila.

Here’s the thing, although I may have questioned the health of Nathan and Lila’s relationship, I feel like it was all necessary and served a purpose. This was a GREAT first book. The foundation was laid, their relationship was far from perfect, but I could tell that they were what each other needed to overcome the pain from their past. I'm looking forward to reading the next books in the series!
