“Totally on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it, couldn't put it down!” – Book Addict Mumma

“As a sequel this book works extremely well, as a stand alone thriller it is also very good but clearly readers would be left a little lost about the back story (in which case read 'Bedrock' first).” —Paul Little, Little Ebook Reviews

“I haven't felt this many emotions in a book in a very long time.” – Saints and Sinners Books

“The writing… goodness… I would have never thought this was the author’s first foray into Adult Romance. The writing… Again…Wonderful!! — Gretchen Anderson, Battery Operated Book Blog

As a married mother of three, Addison Greyer has always been known for doing the right thing. Hoping to keep it that way, she’s fought like hell to avoid falling for the mysterious, highly successful, albeit broken man whom the world knows as William Hartman.

But there’s just something about that which is forbidden…

From the way he looks at her to the way he so eloquently professes his love via written letters—there's something undeniable in the way he makes her feel.

With the two of them separated by a trial, public opinion, and a marriage that seems to be unraveling by the hour, the pressure mounts, and Addison soon realizes the price she’ll pay to keep everyone else happy.

Until it becomes pretty clear that some rules were made to be broken.

In this highly anticipated sequel to Bedrock, Addison learns that you can't help who you fall in love with—and it almost never happens the way you think it should.

Due to heavy subject matter, strong language, and sexual content this book is for mature audiences.

HASH(0x9ccae1c8) out of 5 stars Perfect! Feb. 12 2014
By JC82 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a review of Both Bedrock and Breaking Bedrock

Is your seatbelt fastened? Okay good because this series is one hell of a bumpy ride.
Have you ever looked at your life and asked yourself “What would have happened if I made different choices, took greater “How would my life change?”
How does one choice; one action ripple throughout your life? Meet Addison Greyer who is about to find out what happens when the choices she makes sets her life in a tailspin she can’t control and into the arms of a man she can’t resist.ddison Greyer had a plan for a life; a dream of marriage to a great man, of being a loving mother, and the perfect wife. When she meets her future husband Patrick in college she believes her dream will come true and it does for a little while at least until her idea of motherhood is harder than she planned and her husband decides to take a job thousands of miles away. Addison’s dreams soon start to crumble and in its wake she realizes that maybe it’s time to make some choices of her own. Deciding to renter the workforce Addison is swept into a world unlike her own, one filled with passion, deceit, control, lust, murder and ultimately love and it is in that world that she meets the man she can’t refuse, William Hartman. Torn between what is right and what is in her heart Addison makes choices that can possibly destroy the family she once craved but give her the love she most desperately needs.
Well, where to begin! These books had me all over the place, complete emotional roller coaster. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to smack Addison or hug her. When I first started reading I was definitely judgmental. I completely judged the characters based on their actions in the story at face value without considering their reasoning, and I have to say, I think that was Britney King’s plan all along because as things started to unravel my feelings started to change as well. One word –“INTENSE”. King creates a story that sucks you in and spits you out a completely different person, she shows two sides to almost every character and by the end of the series you are desperately rooting for everyone to end up with a happy ending because getting there has definitely been rough. Oh and “Hello William Hartman!” this man is smokin hot and oh so broken, so much so that you want to jump into the story and lick all his wounds. The heat that he and Addison give off is basically volcanic, another one-word “Elevator”, yup fanning myself as I think about it. This series is bold, brave and in your face from the beginning. The characters make some choices that will make you want to cover your eyes in disgust but peak through your fingers at the same time because even though you think something was wrong you can’t help but want to see the outcome. You can’t help but hope that maybe the decisions weren’t necessarily bad but perhaps they were right all along. King brings us truth in this series, that life is messy, right and wrong choices are never really clear; sometimes we do need to stumble perhaps even fall and sometimes we do end up hurting people we love. That is living, and how many of us wouldn’t wish to be the person that is brave enough to put it all on the line if it meant genuine happiness at the end, for everyone involved. So are you brave enough to take the plunge into a darker story full of twists, heartbreak and love or will you stay in your comfort zone were Happily Ever After’s are all sunshine and rainbows? What’s YOUR choice?

HASH(0x9ccae21c) out of 5 stars Amazing! Must Read!!!!! Jan. 26 2014
By Gretchen A - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Excerpt:
It is my belief that love is mostly about showing up. It’s about showing up in the good times and especially in the bad. It’s about being there, showing up, and continuing to show up. If you can do these things day in and day out, no matter what life brings you, you’ll find that love is there for the taking. In time you might come to find that while it’s not in the form you may have imagined - or necessarily the way that you thought it would be - it’s there nonetheless. This is the story of one such love and how it came to be everything unimaginable and yet so much more than one could have hoped for.

Addison is falling apart. She’s pretending everything is ok and her heart is broken and is currently being stomped on. She doesn’t seem to be able to figure out how to make things work and no one get hurt. She can’t stop thinking about William. They’ve had no contact and it’s killing her slowly. Finally, she finds a way to send him a letter via carrier. Basically stating that she can’t keep going on like this and she has to figure out things without him. She also decides to go back to work.

After the note William received he realized she was slipping through his hands. So, he shows up at her office. He needs to talk to her, find out what her true feelings are. There are so many things going on with their lives and so many factors that each decision, even one like seeing each other, has monumental consequences. The way their lives seem to entwine but also prevent them from being together is……well it’s unfair.

William feels he’s at fault for everything that’s going on and only wants to protect Addison and keep her safe. The guilt he feels for putting her in this position is seriously affecting him. Addison feels guilty for cheating and putting her family at risk. Will they be able to overcome unsurmountable obstacles to be together? They will have to let go of the past, forgive each other, stop feeling guilty and be brave enough to try.

This Bedrock Series is so amazing. It’s Britney King’s first book and she has hit it out of the park!!! I can’t tell you how much I love this story. Well it was mostly love/hate. Love Addison then hate her then love her again……Love William then Hate him and of course love him again! LOL Cheer for Patrick…..then wish him to choke on some rice in China! LOL (not really!) The writing……goodness……I would have never thought this was and Author’s first foray into into Adult Romance. The writing….OMG! Again…..Wonderful!!

Please note: there is a HUGE part of this story I intentionally left out of this review. Actually, there’s TWO parts but I found it hard to add without it being a major spoiler.

PLEASE READ this series!!!! It’s so amazing!!!! You won’t be sorry I promise! Britney King…..come up with another story…..I’m a serious fan and can’t wait for your next series!!

HASH(0x9ccae654) out of 5 stars Break me Jan. 13 2014
By Rick - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This was exactly what was needed from the first book. It was a good continuation and I am glad that I went straight into it. The book started right where the last one ended. I’ve noticed in book’s that has seconds or thirds that there is a lapse in the time frame. But this didn’t one bit.
Needless to say that in this book we find out more about Addie and her life, even though it seemed at times she was flip flopping back and forth with what she wanted in loving someone. But when you love someone as strong as she does then I can completely understand the problem she was having within her. She knew exactly what she wanted to do with her husband Patrick to say the least. And with her wanting to continue working on her career was an insight to how strong and determined she was in that aspect of her.
In the first book we find out that Patrick was having an affair with his boss and that she was holding it over his head. In this book we get a little bit more insight on what is going on with them. Even though what happened was wrong still something beautiful came out of it.
William is a man that takes what he wants and leaves no prisoners. That man took a hold of Addie heart and would not let it go. He fell for the woman that took his breath away and never looked back, because he found the one thing that made him incredibly happy.
Now I didn’t mention Jessica in my first review but how could I not mention her here. This is the rock that was Addie best friend in college and they stayed close afterwards. Jessica told Addie exactly what she needed to hear even if Addie didn’t want to listen. It caused a little bit of tension between them but that is what a best friend is for to tell you like it is. But their friendship comes out even stronger then what it was to begin with.
Now I am not the type of person to give anything away but you need to read this book. I think the people in this story were good. Even the ones that I just wanted to slap and beat the crap out of. They were there to make the drama a little bit more intense. It surely did that. So in conclusion this book could be considered a HEA, but it also left enough that the book could go on, I was happy with the way the book was written and I give it a honest 4 ½ stars. Well done Britney King.

HASH(0x9ccaea14) out of 5 stars Follow Up to Book One Dec 15 2013
By Angela DeMarco - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Breaking Bedrock is the follow up to Bedrock, to fully understand the story I suggest you start with the first one.

We met Addison (Addie) Greyer in the first book a happily married (she thinks she is) mother of three beautiful little boys, married to her college sweetheart Patrick. Her husband decided to move to China for work, Addie decides to stay behind with the children, she then decides herself to re-enter the work force.

She meets the handsome, powerful, rich William Hartman in the elevator where they are stuck together…yes they connect with one another and end of having sex right in the elevator….and so begins the affair.

William Hartman is a very powerful man, he’s used to getting anything he wants. William is also haunted by a very traumatic past, he’s not the type of man to fall in love with anyone….until he meets Addison. He knew she was married he still perused her and fell in love.

Breaking Bedrock picks up where book one left us Addison was kidnapped and tortured by a madman Scott Hammons who was after William. He’s now been arraigned, pleading not guilty and is out on bail, and awaiting his day in court. Leaving Addie fearing for her life, plus her husband is blackmailing her into staying married, a marriage that they both know deep down is broken and can not be fixed, and he’s also threatening to take the children away from her. Her life is in turmoil at the moment she has no place to let love in and continue her affair with William, her focus for the next few months is the trial and protecting her children at all cost. She decides to send William a letter explaining her decision to move forward with her life, to beat Scott Hammons in the trial, keep her children safe and secure, and stay in her marriage.

William doesn’t take Addie’s news to well, she doesn’t know who she’s dealing with he’s not to keen on rejection and he decides he’s finished playing nice and not going to fight fair, he is determined to win Addie back at all cost, because a love like they share only comes around once for a man like him.

"I believe I’ve loved you before, Addison, in another time, in another place, and I will love you again. Just wait and see."

"Because I need you, Addison. Because I’m a mess without you. But most of all because I love you, and I’m tired of hiding it."

Can two broken souls reconnect their love through a series of love letters?

Will Addie finally decide to put herself first and make herself happy, and stop worrying what others think of her?

I enjoyed reading Breaking Bedrock it was a quick read, there were many characters in the book to get to know, some I didn’t like at times. I loved the Epilogue it tied up all of the lose ends.

"We understand each other. It’s like you’re the drug I need, the drug that makes me better. Even more so, you make me want to be better."

I waited impatiently for months to read Breaking Bedrock and I was definitely not disappointed! I enjoyed this story, its characters (even though I didn't always like them), and the bigger meaning behind its entirety. I'm excited to read future works by this author!
