In Volume 2 of Bride of the Water God by Mi-Kyung Yun, the story progresses slowly but keeps getting more and more interesting. It's definitely more interesting than the first volume, and the later volumes are even more interesting than this volume.

Soah does not realize that Mui and Habaek are the same person. The Water God is actually cursed, thus becomes a child by day and an adult by night. She will not discover Mui's actual identity until many volumes later.

I highly recommend Bride of the Water God to girls that love fantasy and romance. The artwork is incredible and the story builds so much suspense that you will want to grab the next volume immediately.

The man at night has told Soah that his name is Mui and he is the Water God's cousin. They are falling in love but neither will admit it to each other or themselves; there is much antagonism between them. Soah is given the opportunity to return home and yet she refuses. She learns of Mui's secret (that he is really the Water God by night) but from an unreliable source and this volume concentrates on her trying to find out the truth. I found the wordless panels quite hard to figure out exactly what was going on in them, and as in the first volume I was a bit confused at times but the story is much easier to follow this time around. Though this volume mostly centres on romance, the secondary characters are fleshed out and many now seem to have a secret past or ulterior motives. Halfway through the book I was pretty sure I didn't want to read any further in the series but then that's when things got interesting with the secondary characters, including some scheming from the Water God's mother and finally with the cliffhanger ending I know I'll have to read the next volume.

HASH(0x9ebc7744) out of 5 stars recommended March 15 2008

When the world cast her away, the Water God rescued her.

Soah is a girl from a small village. The Water God (also known as Habaek) is upset and so a long drought has been devestating the village people. In order to appease the god, they marry Soah off to him by sacrificing her to the Water God in exchange for rain. The Water God rescues her to his Water Kingdom, where her new life begins. For Soah, this is a story of her faith ... her life ... her love...

Overall, all I've got to say about this manhwa is that it has incredible artwork and the storyline is just very intense. There's always a cliff-hanger in every volume. Which just makes readers want to read more and more of it.

HASH(0x9ebc7798) out of 5 stars Enchanting Art March 22 2008
By Emmieh Meche - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As someone who reads manhwa from time to time (and manga all of the time), this is the first time I was really impressed with the art work AND the story line. The first two pages (Front and back) are in color and the art is breathtaking. I keep reading it and wishing the whole book was in color. The story itself is very captivating and I can't wait to turn the page, but I take my time because the art work makes you want to look at it for hours. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

HASH(0x9ee04a8c) out of 5 stars Beautiful.... Aug. 19 2008

When I first saw this book on Amazon, i thought that since the cover looked amazing, I'd give it a try. (because to me, even if the story is great, if I dont like the art, then I'll hate it.) However, lucky me, it turned out to be both a page-turner and a work a art. I really like this series, so i recommend it. I'm counting the seconds until book three comes out.
HASH(0x9ebc7a20) out of 5 stars Beautiful Artwork May 11 2015

It's an interesting story line, and I absolutely love the artwork. Actually, I think I mostly read it for the artwork. Sometimes you get frustrated with the characters for not knowing what seems so obvious, but that seems to be a theme among manga. The translation is pretty good, at least in the way the words make sense and the grammar is correct. I got a used version, but it was in good condition. All in all, I was rather pleased.

The characters' backgrounds are further explained in this installment, and the story gets more emotional. I'm enjoying this series to keep going. I would recommend this to shojo manga fans who like a paranormal twist.
