After a year of living in Los Angeles, recording her first album, singing a duet with JD Fortune on "Switch" the most recent INXS album, another duet with Clay Aiken, and touring as a back-up singerfor Pink, Suzi McNeil is ready for her turn in the spotlight as one of Canada's premiere singers.

I wondered how her first album would be, how could they do her voice justice. I was not disapointed. The majority of the songs are pretty strong. Lonely is a great first track, great production, highlights Suzies strong voice, kind of a power ballad. Track 2 is believe, good song, good uplifting lyrics, and great vocals by Suzie. I heard this song was going to be in the next winter olympics. Hung up is a really good song, pop/rock, very catchy, as well as the song skin., the title track broken and beautiful is also a very good song. Me being a 40 yr old music fan, I love the R&B music, I know Suzie has a strong background in R&B, and there are elements of R&B on this CD, especially the song "so in love". The album is aimed at a younger audience than I, however I do like it, and I look forward to future works by Suzie Mcneil, she is a great singer, and I hope to hear some more edgy, rock n roll that I think she really thrives at....Bill.

fantastic voice. I rate the cd 4 stars because I think she can do more.
I discovered Suzie McNeil like everybody else watching her amaze me RS:INXS. I loved her personality and her look and I loved her voice. Wow. Saddly, I'm into darker music than what she delivers here. I do enjoy the cuts she's got a writer's credit for but some of the stuff is just to nice and poppy for me.
Remember when she does the fast parts of Bohemian ? She had this kinda sinister quality to her voice that blew me away. I'd love to see her more in a Lita Ford (or even Sophie B. Hawkins) kinda song than in a Kelly Clarkson vibe if you know what I mean? Anyway, this record should do great business and I'm gonna keep my copy to help her out as much as I can but a more Rock album with an edge is what I'd love from her: Remedy and Call Me that kinda vibe. BTW, I love Soul Life.
Best cut on the record is Too Low.
