This movie is perfection in cast, script, performances and direction. Thank goodness it was made.I dare you to watch it only once or twice.
Ms Ronan is so accomplished its hard to believe she was only 19 when she gave this performance - the director deserves credit for giving her the artistic freedom to act at this level.
This is the picture that should have received the Oscar.
We're going to see and hear a great deal of this fine actress in the years ahead.
It isn't that I'm into "action" packed or violent movies, but they need a better story line and need to move a little faster to keep my interest. This movie they would stop and play that boring music to accentuate a feeling that they want to get across which is annoying, and feels as if they are just filling in time with music. Movies like The Best Offer and This is Where I leave You were not action movies, but went quickly (for two hour long each) they did not get hung on a scene and play music, it actually kept "moving" instead of getting stuck.
Oh well, enough about me, not my style of movie, but many seem to enjoy the long drawn out love stories
I love this movie. I've visited New York City on holiday and went to the Irish Outsiders tour at the Tenement Museum, there were a few connections in theme between this movie and that tour. Highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes a great drama, there is some romance but the story is really about a young woman trying to become an adult while other people seem to they should decide for her.
