Excellent moving. Good story line about a young woman starting out on a new journey for a better future. The decision is not always an easy one. I enjoyed the storyline and the twists that only life can bring.

I cannot praise this movie sufficiently without sounding intemperate and in awe.

This movie is perfection in cast, script, performances and direction. Thank goodness it was made.I dare you to watch it only once or twice.

Ms Ronan is so accomplished its hard to believe she was only 19 when she gave this performance - the director deserves credit for giving her the artistic freedom to act at this level.

This is the picture that should have received the Oscar.

We're going to see and hear a great deal of this fine actress in the years ahead.

A story of new beginnings and the sacrifices one has to make. This is a simple movie with great acting, character development and a story that keeps you interested throughout. The story draws you in where you feel for the decisions that are made and wonder what would you do.

Could not finish watching it went that slow. the first 45 minutes centered a lot around a table full of cackling women. Am happy that I borrowed it rather than spend my money on it.
It isn't that I'm into "action" packed or violent movies, but they need a better story line and need to move a little faster to keep my interest. This movie they would stop and play that boring music to accentuate a feeling that they want to get across which is annoying, and feels as if they are just filling in time with music. Movies like The Best Offer and This is Where I leave You were not action movies, but went quickly (for two hour long each) they did not get hung on a scene and play music, it actually kept "moving" instead of getting stuck.
Oh well, enough about me, not my style of movie, but many seem to enjoy the long drawn out love stories

As one researching my newly discovered Irish descendants and their relocation to the US, I felt moved to imagine their experiences, fears, trepidations, and challenges as they left their birth country, family & friends & sailed off to the big unknown. The movie was over too fast. Very well done. I have new respect and admiration for those kinfolk who made that journey all those many years ago. The 1800's America was not welcoming to the Irish; it must have been difficult to arrive on foreign soil and feel like an outcast "because they were Irish".

The Digital Copy is GooglePlay ONLY. There is not an iTunes code included, this was very disappointing because I have an iPhone and Apple TV so I'd prefer to have the movie on those devices without having to download a Google app. Not a big problem but I didn't see this specified anywhere on Amazon.

I love this movie. I've visited New York City on holiday and went to the Irish Outsiders tour at the Tenement Museum, there were a few connections in theme between this movie and that tour. Highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes a great drama, there is some romance but the story is really about a young woman trying to become an adult while other people seem to they should decide for her.
