Eva cross makes an appearance, not worthy of anything ground breaking .

I liked the beginning of the book. Towards the middle and the very end, the book felt rushed and ended abruptly! Some parts were confusing and had to review again what I just read. Great story, could have been a bit better written! Eva made an appearance in the book, but was very short. Could use a 2nd book for a follow up as this ended short. 🤔

I was really looking forward to reading something new from Sylvia Day. Been a massive fan of the Crossfire series and desperately wanted to like this. Unfortunately, this was a total waste of my time and money. The characters were weak, there was a totally unnecessary reference to a number of characters from the Crossfire books, and the story was so short that it made it impossible for the personalities to develop and for me to start caring what happens to them. The twist at the end was a WTF moment that felt like it was put there as a possible saving grace, only that it made the whole story even more silly and totally made me feel like I’ve completely wasted my time with this. Nothing else to say. As a massive fan of a lot of her books, Ms Sylvia Day should have known better than to put out work this substandard.

I wasn't expecting Chaucer, but I thought a decent plot was wasted here. Far too short, and disjointed, jumping about. It felt like there were huge chunks of narrative were missing, and I actually checked to see if I was reading a promotional version. It took me about 1hr 20 mins to read, and I like a bit more than that from a book.

I was looking forward to this book as Sylvia said it was a standalone book, which meant I wasn't going to be waiting years or never for the sequel. But I found it hard to follow, rushed and I nearly didn't finish it as I found it boring at times. Adding Eva cross was just to give crossfire fans answers she should have put in one with you or a novella. Very disappointed but what I have come to expect from Sylvia Day.

Sylvia Day's novella 'Butterfly in Frost' is a tasteful and moving (and sometimes sexy!) exploration of feelings and situations that many of us can find ourselves in to varying degrees.
It's the story of Teagan and Garrett, both individuals that have lost a lot, and are slowly but surely rebuilding their lives in their own ways. Their connection is instant, their chemistry off the charts, and though they have their difficulties, they made me laugh, even as they made my heart ache. And the final development had me on the edge of my seat, hoping everything would work out, just wanting to reach into the story and offer hugs and a listening ear. Getting to see just a few moments of Eva Cross was also a wonderful surprise!
This novella was endearing, and quite the emotional rollercoaster, and I enjoyed every second of it, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone and everyone! The love that Garrett and Teagan share is priceless and enduring, and it carries through the words on the page into the heart and mind of the reader.

I am still in shock! I loved the storyline and loved the characters. We follow Garrett and Teagan from their initial "collision" in the first chapter. The chemistry between them is instant, but they are both dealing with traumatic pasts, both battling to keep their heads above water. Garrett keeps pushing Teagan to accept their attraction and move forward but Teagan is much more reticent. Eventually of course, their chemistry is too great to ignore. I must admit that I felt the story was a bit rushed and lacking in any real depth when dealing with their respective ghosts. I was a little frustrated that although we knew much of Garrett's story, we didn't know what had happened in Teagan's past to cause her depression and withdrawal from her former life. But then - oh my goodness, what a clever twist! I did not see that coming!! Now I will have to read the whole book again from a different perspective. What a beautiful love story. Shame it wasn't longer. Would also love to read the whole back story .....
