This book outlines information in a way that is friendly to beginners of this subject - It also goes into some depth and leads you to sources that can provide additional information.

I found this book extremely useful, as it gave me a good estimate of the various taxes I would be held accountable for. In the end, I decided not to invest in American real estate; I would, however, recommend this book.

For more in depth information, I believe one can look on the internet while reading the book - Yes, it's a thin book but it's well worth the money.

I recently read Buyng Real Estate in The US. It's excellent in many respects and certainly puts your mind at ease about investing south of the border for sure. However, there is a section in there entitled " The Us-Canada Tax Convention (Treaty) Article XXIX B (Taxes Imposed by Reason of Death). This is a complex topic and I think it could have been written in a much more understandable format. Mr. Walters could have put a bit more levitiy into the book as well. Taxation is a dry topic and any type of interest grabber sure helps! Other than that, great book!

This is a well organized book, covering all of the possible information and implications of buying/owning/selling property in Florida.
It will be a useful reference for those wondering about how to go about purchasing a home in Florida, including legal and tax information.

The books covers information that everyone buying a home needs to know. Because it covers just about any scenario, any one buyer would only use a small part of the information it contains. I did still have some questions after I read the book. In other words it answers most questions but not all.
