Excellent tablature book, and for 100 songs from the country oldies this one has a really good selection, but opinions vary right!! This book will be added to the many others that i purchased over the years.

People, songs in guitar tablature are getting scarce, and I recommend purchasing your favourites while you can. For instance, The Gulf of Mexico by Clint Black is no where to be found in any tablature book by Hal Leonard or Cherry Lane etc..

Another one that is not in tablature (only in standard notation) is Bryan Adams' - There Will Never Be Another Tonight, look this one up, no where is it found so I downloaded the sheet music from a legal company and will have to try to convert it to tablature.

Just thought I would let people know if they collect music in tablature for guitar!

HASH(0xb321e4d4) out of 5 stars Glad to own March 31 2007
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I use this book a lot. Since I haven't had guitar lessons it's a good book because it shows the chords. I don't necessarily agree that the song selections are the "100 greatest country songs", but there are good ones included, both old and new.

HASH(0xb3226168) out of 5 stars GREAT SONGS, EASY TABS FOR BEGINNERS LIKE ME Nov. 20 2010
By The Chief - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
After receiving The Eagles Guitar/TABs book, I was starting to think that I shouldn't have ordered this one at the same time. But I just received the CMT 100 Greatest Songs and its great! professionally printed and easy TABs to follow for beginners like me. I have attempted to play some of the songs and they sound identical to the original songs. Unlike the Eagles purchase this book doesn't only give the note but breaks the tabs down into the strings played in that note.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

HASH(0xb3227648) out of 5 stars Very good collection! Oct. 9 2008
By Paul R. Lanhart - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As a beginning guitarist this collection is a bit advanced for me but there's enough songs that are a bit easier and others that push me quite a bit. The book as a nice variety of old/new, slow/fast, easy/difficult that it will appeal to most country lovers. I, personally, thought the song choices were excellent. I recommend it!

HASH(0xb322733c) out of 5 stars I love this book. . . March 13 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Although, some of the music is a bit tangled, i.e., Marty Robbins El Paso is very confusing trying to follow the musical 'road map'. However, I found Amarillo by Morning to be very easy to learn, both rhythm and melody. At least with this book I have already heard most of these songs and am familiar with how they have been played. I do believe I will be very busy for a while learning to play the songs in this book!

HASH(0xb3226198) out of 5 stars Hal Leonard does it again....Five Stars! Oct. 18 2008
By S.L. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
In my opinion Hal Leonard provides the best compulation of songs in their songs books and this is no exception.Great songs are included in this book! If you are a country fan you will want this book! Almost every song is recognizable and easy to play. It is a bit expensive but if you look at all the songs it has to offer it is well worth the money! Highly recommended!
