While denied the opportunities afforded by a 'normal' life Tait grabbed the ones that came his way, especially when they involved education or sports. His work in media brought him into contact with sports celebrities and helped him blaze a trail of greater acceptance and access for the handicapped.
His time as a comedian stressed the concept of laughing with someone over laughing at someone, a subtle but important difference. He shares that joy with the reader, from the teasing by friends to some of the best jokes you'll ever read.
There are a few places where the time line jumps from one period to a previous one. Tait keeps you on track, explaining how the current part of his story relates to the whole, something many writers fail at.
Not bad for a guy born holding his breath. You'll laugh and you might cry. Enjoy.
