CANADIAN JEWRY DESERVES ITS OWN HAGGADAH. As the fourth-largest Jewish community in the world, the Canadian Jewish community has long impacted many areas of our nation’s character: law, politics, economy, science, medicine, the arts, and more. Moreover, Canadian Jewry has an identity that distinguishes it from Jewish communities in other countries. This distinct identity has led us to create this Haggadah, which contains a distinct Canadian flavour: It is created by Canadians and for Canadians, in both national languages, with commentary from across Canada’s denominational and geographical spectrum, and with historical references that evoke the depth and breadth of the Canadian Jewish experience. In the Canadian Haggadah Canadienne, we offer a Canadian perspective on our timeless story of freedom—our Jewish history as seen through Canadian eyes.

An excellent addition to our Passover Seder this year. It was great to have a tri-lingual Haggadah. The guide includes some excellent articles by Canadian Rabbis and Jewish leaders, and a wonderful collection of black and white photos from Canadian Jewish archives. The text was easy to read and the print size was perfect. Contrary to some rumours, the four s cups of wine are not really replaced with four cups of maple syrup..

Beautifully done. First time the Seder ritual can be followed simultaneously in 3 languages. It is truely Canadian with pictures and story bits from across the country. It doesn't hurt that my picture is on the cover along with my school mates from the Jewish Peretz School on Duluth Street in Montreal in 1948 visiting a Matzo plant on the South Shore. My personal congrats to Rabbi Scheier and Richard Marceau who collaborated on this publication.

A beautifully edited book that combines the traditional haggadah text (including bilingual French/English translation) with fascinating vignettes and photos on the history of Canadian Jewry. Although we don't use this as our primary haggadah, it's a great addition and we use the book to pull additional interesting things to use during the seder.

This is an excellent religious and literary work. It should be found in every Jewish home in Canada and in non-Jewish homes as well.

A lovely memento to give your young children that they will understand the connection of the Jews of Canada and what they bring to the land.
