I originally went looking for a capture card for consoles and PC. I found out about Elgato and researched it. I ended up buying the Elgato HD60 Pro instead just to make my life much easier and I'm using the HD60 when I need to be on the road. I do like the product a lot but it's not without issues...

Here is what I experienced:

Pros:

Small Format: This device is insanely small. It's about the same size as a small Canon Snapshot camera.

Polished Look: It's pod-like design gives it a really nice and slick look.

Cool: The device never seems to get warm at all. It stayed cool after over 6 hrs of use for me.

Elgato Gaming Chat Link: There is an additional cable that Elgato sells that allows you to hook your stereo headset to your console controller (needs a stereo female connector on the controller), that allows you to capture party chat on the console. **This is sold separately!**

Console Configuration: This is seriously the most ridiculously easy setup ever. You can get the Elgato software for free from the company website. Just hook your console HDMI into the Elgato HD60 HDMI IN port and then connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI out on the Elgato to your TV or monitor and the software should pick it up immediately.

Software: The software is amazing. It allows you to auto log into twitch or youtube for live broadcasts with a single click. You can add overlays for webcams, watermarks, twitch alerts with absolute ease. There are numerous output options after you have recorded your video.

Worked exactly as advertised. One of the best capture cards I have seen to date. Hopefully they continue to get better and better (but not too soon, though I don't see this one being obsoleted any time in the near future.)

This is defiantly worth buying if you are looking for a capture device. It is easy to set up, and the software is very simple to use. Anyone can use this, even if you have never captured before.

Being a video tutorial creator, I needed something to bring in HDMI sources like a cell phone, Roku, FireTV, etc and have them on screen while I teach. I could have went with something cheaper, but I wanted a card that did 1080p/60fps with very little lag.

This card turned out to be the best capture card on the market (without crossing into the professional broadcast world).

Pros:
- Easy to install
- On-board MP4 encoding
- Solid software included

Cons:
- Lack of multiple imports
- Issue's with XSplit

Pros:
Installation was quick and painless. When booting into Windows my machine was locking up and crashing quite a bit. After a quick search, turns out that my motherboard was in need of a BIOS/firmware upgrade. Once completed everything started working smooth.

Downloaded and installed Elgato's software bundle. I'm quite impressed with the software included. It's almost (note... almost) as good as XSplit and slightly better than OBS. The quality of the capture card is solid with really nice MP4 compression and a solid 60fps recording with no stuttering.

Cons:

Just little things here... like lack of multiple inputs. Having a 2 or 3 inputs would have been better, even if that was available via a break-out box. You can add multiple cards (from what I'm reading), so that is probably my next option.

While doing some basic testing with XSplit, the card would suddenly disappear and lock up XSplit forcing a reboot of Windows. I will test more, but I'm assuming the problem might be with XSplit's handling of the Elgato HD60 Pro video stream, not the product itself.

The capture card does as it's supposed to and captures gameplay at the resolutions and frame rates listed in advertising, but if you are a Mac user or were planning on using this with a Mac, expect to use beta software that is not as feature filled as the Windows version.
Even if you meet minimum specification requirements, expect frame rate drops in recorded footage with the Mac's beta software or even delayed audio. (Also if you are a Mac user, the Elgato's software is your only choice at the moment for the HD60S, so don't expect to use OBS or any other alternative).

The capture card does not introduce any noticeable delay to your tv or monitor's received signal (not talking about instant gameview), but keep in mind that you may need your Elgato to be powered on, to actually still game on your screen of choice.

If you are a Mac user, I'd suggest waiting for better support, but if you are on Windows, go right ahead, as you can't go wrong with this capture card.
