HASH(0x9e637e64) out of 5 stars Needs a major rewrite to get a recommendation from me. July 2 2015
By Delta Stet - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I did not enjoy this book. I was looking for a feel-good romance, but I got a set of characters with major character flaws and no over-arching plot line. The "romance" story line is so absurd to be write off-able. The chemistry is completely missing, and the characters never develop. There are sub-plots that feel like they were thrown in as a larger series plot line, but are not explored enough to be worth the time. However, I have a hard time blaming this on Kendrick because something tells me that an editor hacked the story up and took out some important scenes. I could be totally wrong, but it did feel like scenes were shortened and plot lines abandoned. I don't know if I will ever know, but this book suffered greatly.

Needs a major rewrite to get a recommendation from me.

I was surprised that I didn't like this book because I buy from this publishing company all the time and they never fail. I really wish I could get my money back. I feel as tho they think we readers are hooked on a style of writing and they can sneak a lemon pass us. I feel this book was thrown together no tenderness no real love. The authors today are replacing tenderness and love with a whole lot of explicit sex. What should shame.

HASH(0xa2caaf00) out of 5 stars ok read April 15 2015
By Alicia Dean - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was asked to give this book an honest review. The story took me several chapters to get interested in their story. I believe the H was cold and way too serious the entire read. Very little humor in their story. The h initially struck me as weak; but she did end up showing some backbone later in their relationship. The ending was a little too easy to believe for me. On a positive note the H and h back story was believable and very thorough!

HASH(0x9e9770a8) out of 5 stars I thought it was a decent HP, and I am excited about the story about the Hero's twin. Aug. 8 2015
By Myriam El Kholi - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This is my first Sharon Kendrick book. I downloaded it for free on the Harlequin website, I usually stick to writers I know, but I was not too disappointed. She is a good writer, even though sometimes I thought the dialogue was a bit stuffy and I did not think people used the word acclimatize in a real conversation. I liked the hero, and I like writers who give us the Hero’s POV and she gives some. The story started off good but somehow in the middle it lost a bit of its edge. I liked the heroine even though I like my heroines more innocent, but she was really likeable and I could relate to her, I also liked the hero, even though he is a bit on the cold side, I prefer my heroes more potent but I thought he had potential.
This is not going to be my last Sharon Kendrick book, I would like to read the hero’s twin brother story. I am not sure if Ms. Kendrick already wrote it, but I would be looking for it and more books by the writer. I give it 4 stars because it was really well written and the story was much better than many of the HP stories out there.

HASH(0x9e97724c) out of 5 stars Cold H but good story April 1 2015
By Sandy Milan - Published on

I really enjoyed this book even though I found this H to be exceptionally cold. Basically the h is trying to work her way up from the bottom at a hotel where the H comes to stay for a week. She is sweet and quite naive and unwittingly betrays the H after an illicit kiss. Staff of the hotel may not fraternise with the guests. She unknowingly talks to a journalist who then publishes her responses plus a picture of the kiss in a tabloid. The H gets the h fires and also decides to get his revenge by seducing her and walking away. Well the story gives the rest of the picture so we know the h has to go and see him to tell him. In a bit of a twist the h asks the H to marry her simply to make the child legitimate and they can divorce later. So the story goes - be prepared for an emotionally distant H for most of the story but it is still a good story.
