Only one real drawback: the cards are a lot harder to get in and out of the slot. I've always carried one credit card and my drivers license, but this slot seems a lot tighter than ones I've had in the past. It's also missing a tab cutout at the top, which I'd always found useful as a useful to pull the cards out quickly - this one only has a cutout at the bottom and you have to push the cards out, which I find a little more difficult than in past versions.
Improvements: past generations have been hard plastic all around, which led to the consistent failure of a break on the edge near volume control where the plastic is thinnest (I had 2 or 3 of the old version and every on failed that way). This new Pop! version uses a combination of hard plastic for the back and rubber on the sides, with the rubber covering volume and power buttons (it leaves the mute switch exposed for access). It also wraps around slightly on the front to keep the gunk out of the sides of your phone. That gunk was never really a hazard or anything, but it will be nice to have that closed off now. The rubber sides also make this product a lot easier to get on/off the phone, which is excellent, but not so much so that I have any fear of it just falling off the phone.
Overall, lots of improvements, and I figure I'll get used to the differences.
