Product description

The 58577 spin interceptor fits most standard domestic or European produced domestic canister vacuums at 1.25-Inch or 1.375-Inch. The 58577 creates cyclonic separation of bulky dirt at the top of the wand set that can be easily twisted off and dumped preventing bulky dirt form entering your vacuum or expensive to replace filter bags. Great for cleaning up pine needles at Christmas after the kids, or following home improvement projects. Considering the cost of some high performance filter bags you can expect to recover the cost of your spin interceptor in less than two replacement boxes of bags.

So this 'Turbo dust filter' cyclone attachment tends to be marketed towards other household type vacuums, but with one of the included adaptors I was able to use it with my Shop Vac SS11-450 (4.5 hp, 5-6 gallon). My shop vac has the smaller hose size advertised as 1 1/4"; which is the same as 2 of our household vacuums. I attached it between the flexible hose and wands. I don't know yet if this attachment can do wet applications but so far it seems to handle most basic dry pickup fine. A lot of people do 'dust separator' attachments for wet/dry vacs for large amounts of sawdust etc., but they are often large enough to double the space taken by the vacuum. I just wanted something small so I don't go thru nearly as many bags when vacuuming parts of garage+cat's room. Kitty litter seems to destroy most household vacuums quickly vs wet/dry vacuums which seem to hold up to the abuse. With this small cyclone attachment, I should be able to save bags, use the same filter longer, and not take up much additional space. I will note it seems many different places sell this same item+the price seems to fluctuate (it is now listed at about twice what I paid) so it may be wise to shop around. That said I got what I ordered from this seller+am satisfied. Thank you!
