Product Description

Through a fortunate series of events, Will Bradford’s winery hits the map in a huge way, with demand far outpacing production. After months of chaos and unmanageable growth he decides to bring in a specialist to help him get organized.

Queen of organization Avalon Reece is a closet chaotic. She’s rebelled against a childhood of wanderlust with a hippie mother by striving to maintain order in her life. Everything has a place and she means to see it there. For her, love is messy and she avoids it at all costs. Until she accept a consulting job with Will to put his life in order.

Will sees beyond the straight-laced, orderly woman to the free-spirit Avalon tries hard to hide. That’s the woman he wants, in spite of how it might impact his business.

Favorite Quotes:

There was a pause long enough for an anaconda to slither through.

Winding her up was going to be fun. And easy, since it seems she was already tightly wound to begin with.

For me. Be free and out of control. Be my Ava. But only in here. Everywhere else, you can be tightly wound, rigidly controlled Avalon Reese… Because knowing that under your disciplined exterior, behind the business as usual front, my secretly free-spirited woman waits is so hot.

My Review:

I am totally enjoying this delightful series, each book has been a delicious treat, and I do like any excuse to indulge, and bonus - there is also wine. Gemma Brocato consistently weaves an amusing and entertaining tale. In addition to the engaging and amusing storylines, I always enjoy the humorous details she uses to detail her characters, as well as the lush descriptions of scenes that tickle each sense. I can almost smell the flowers and taste the food. Chaos Among The Vines continues her amusing, sweet, and steamy style featuring a newly introduced and nuanced couple while reorganizing a vineyard. Ava is a complex and tightly wound individual with many issues stemming from a childhood of poverty and frequent homelessness with her irresponsible single mother. A new client provided the chance for them to quickly leave town avoiding the heat of another of her mother’s hair-brained schemes that brought trouble to Ava’s door yet again. Her new client was her complete opposite, yet they seemed to intrigue each other. She counterbalanced his lack of structure and he was able to occasionally neutralize her need for constant control by encouraging her to let go. I adored them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romancing Readers With a Great Book! April 28 2017

This book is BAD...for your chore list. But it's so GOOD that I read it in one sitting.

I really enjoyed how the author, Gemma Brocato, developed the characters and their situations in a way that made them believable. Avalon Reece with her insistence on managing time, a history of earlier financial uncertainty, and an enabling attitude to weak to turn away her less than stellar mother was someone I could understand. Will Bradford has a friendly and casual attitude, a love of the land and the wine he has made from it, and a business plan that got lost in a pile of papers and the betrayal of an employee.

They are the best kind of opposites; the kind who need each other. It's also helps that there's plenty of love developing and physical attraction to be acted upon to keep a reader's attention. The secondary characters are complex without being too cliche. Another aspect I really enjoyed is all of the details the author adds. The use of everyday technology, the explanation of wine production and bottling, with the attention she pays to the describing the main characters made for a great read.

Even though this book can be read and enjoyed alone, I've read other works of Gemma Brocato and I enjoyed the chance to check in with other characters in the Romancing the Vine series. I am looking forward to more of the series. The chores? Not so much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chaos among the vines April 28 2017

Will owns a vineyard that needs help. He has become too successful for the unorganized management style that he has used so far, and when his accountant recommends an efficiency consultant he reluctantly agrees to hire her.

Avalon lives by her lists, calendar, and smart watch. She has a schedule and a plan for everything, and excels at her job as a consultant. Her newest client, a winery, couldn't have come at a better time. Due to her flighty mother, she has to get out of town fast. Once she gets to the winery, though, she finds herself drawn to the owner. Will is equal parts enchanting and infuriating, and she isn't quite sure what to do about it.

The one thing I found frustrating was Ava's reaction to her mom, specifically the fact that she bailed her out no matter how stupid her mom's actions were (for example, stealing). Her mom just said "I'm sorry," and expected Ava to come up with the cash to pay for it....and Ava does, like she has several times before. Talk about enabling....

The story was cute though, and fun to read. I would give this book 3.5 stars. I was asked by the author for an honest review.
