HASH(0xa1c21de0) out of 5 stars GOOD UPBEAT COUNTRY/SOUTHERN ROCK ALBUM May 1 2007
By K. Carlucci - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Confederate Railroad always seem to put out a good upbeat album and on this one they pay tribute to some of their heroes like Johnny Paycheck, Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson, Hank Williams Jr., David Allen Coe, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Dave Loggins, Joe Diffie, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Although the originals are more Country sounding Confederate Railroad sure add a nice Southern Rock flavor to these classics. I gave this 4 stars because I felt that they have sounded better (vocally) in the past. Instrumentally though they have never sounded better. Pick up a copy if you enjoy a good rockin' country album.

I've liked Confederate Railroad from the start. This cd is o.k. Although to be honest it is probably the least played cd I have by them. I really dont see the point. They are truly an original group. And this cd is all covers. Everything from Don't Rock The Jukebox to Light Up An Old Flame. Whiskey On Ice was just an album cut by The Charlie Daniels Band and they do it pretty good. But songs like Don't Rock The Jukebox and Honky Tonk Heroes are just too well know by the original artists. After having hits on their own. And having a dry spell themselvers. This is on a small lable. Maybe they just did this for themselves. Because none of these songs were hits for them. But it is still an alright cd.
