............but sometimes you just need to cook stuff in oil ! What a great little fryer - perfect size for two people. Basic temperature control to 375. Easy to wipe out. The lid lifts completely off so it can be cleaned separately with soap and water. The wall plug fitting MAGNETIZES to the fittings on the fryer which is very convenient.

It's great to have a big ol' deep fryer where you can cook a meal for a family in one go.

The product does have a couple of minor quirks. First, it gets quite hot underneath the deep fryer to the point where I don't trust it to not warp the linoleum counters so I felt the need for a mat. The "Ready" light is sort of inaccurate, and I have to turn the temp down then back up to check if it is indeed ready. Finally, the hook that hangs the basket is prone to not latching if the weight in the basket is concentrated on the far end (opposite to the hooks). Had the basket fall in twice from resting, which is dangerous because it splashes a bit, so you have to be extra careful.

3 stars because it does what it needs to do, but it has some design quirks that should really be examined by the manufacturer.

I've used this fryer for a couple of years now, and mostly like it. It is easy to use and easy to clean. A minor gripe is that the light indicating that it is heating is very dim. But my bigger issue is that the oil temp drops to about 350 degrees F or a little less when just a couple of fish fillets are added. I consider 375 to be the minimum for frying fish - I'd much rather have it run up to 400 than cool down to 350. I haven't used any other 1700 Watt/4 liter fryers, so maybe this is the norm, but I'm now looking for a 2500 Watt/10 liter unit in the hopes that it will hold temp better.
