HASH(0xa0c9c7f8) out of 5 stars A gift of a look at Chicago by gifted photographers Dec 7 2015
By MaryJaneL. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
A magnificent book by gifted photographers filled with an incredible and unexpected melange of street photographs and celebrities from Chicago as well as lesser known people making a mark from and on the Chicago scene. It is a gorgeous landscape of very distinctive, telling and elegant photographs of people from all different arenas and taken oftentimes at slightly disturbing angles. Each page offers up a surprising portrait. The cover portrait has a certain shock element to it, as it is so unexpected; it throws the viewer off giving a taste of the unique eye of the cameraman, even for celebrities, to be discovered between the covers. It is a beautiful portrait of the people who make up the city of Chicago.
HASH(0xa0c9cad4) out of 5 stars Well done. March 3 2015

It's always refreshing to read and enjoy a book of portraits taken by newspaper photographers where the same dignity is shown to the president of the nation as is shown to an oil field worker and an elderly farmer.
The photographers made the most with the time and circumstances they were allowed with their subjects.
The book includes a short explanation of each person photographed and most times, the reason surrounding the event.
Photos span many decades and each is thoroughly interesting.
