I love listening to Christmas music and I love Mannnheim Steamroller's Christmas music, I have been a fan ever since I heard my sister's Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD and I liked it so much I went out and bought my own CD's! I own the first three Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD's and this is my #1 favorite Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD and I really think the music is very good and I especially like The Carol of the Bells and I love how they flawlessy blend modern synthesizer music with a sometimes old world sound and I very highly recommend this delightful CD!

To be charitable, most of this Christmas music could be described as "relaxing." Another word might be "boring." Along with that, the music tends to swing from highly synthetic to fully symphonic. There's nothing really bad on the CD, but there's very little going for it. Of the 12 tracks, I find eight of them to be merely OK and the remaining four to be good. If you want some good background Christmas music, this is a good possibility. Here are my track ratings:
1. Joy To The World -- 3 Stars
2. Joseph Dear Oh Joseph Mine -- 2 Stars
3. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer -- 3 Stars
4. Herbei, Oh Ihr Glaubigen (O Come All Ye Faithful) -- 2 Stars
5. Pat A Pan -- 2 Stars
6. O' Little Town O Bethlehem -- 2 Stars
7. Angels We Have Heard On High -- 3 Stars
8. Gagliardia -- 2 Stars
9. Los Peces En El Rio -- 2 Stars
10. Christmas Lullaby -- 2 Stars
11. Kling, Glockechen -- 3 Stars
12. Jingle Bells -- 2 Stars

After the revolutionary "Christmas" and the glorious "Fresh Aire Christmas," it may have been almost impossible for the third Mannheim Steamroller Christmas album to live up to listeners' expectations. At any rate, "Christmas in the Aire" doesn't.
The problem with "Christmas in the Aire" is not performance (although "Angels We Have Heard on High" is disappointing), but an appallingly weak song selection. Perhaps Chip ran out of truly beautiful Christmas classics to interpret, but he certainly could have found better material than relative unknowns like "Pat-a-Pan" and "Gagliarda," not to mention tired holiday drivel like "Rudolph" and "Jingle Bells."
Chip's original composition, "Christmas Lullaby," is quite beautiful, but unfortunately it's buried near the end of a rather tedious CD.

There is not a bad son- 'Scuse me: there is not a MEDIOCORE song on this album. All of them are GREAT & are sure to bring out Christmas spirit wherever you play it.
My personal favs are "Rudolph," "Pat-a-Pan," ...& the "King Glochkindeifer" one is pretty cool, too. But, as I said, all of them are great.
This CD isn't really a Christmas "lullaby." (Kenny G's "Miracles" is...) Manheim Steamroller is just too lively for that.
I strongly encourage you to get this CD today!

This is a truly great CD of instrumental Christmas songs. I read one review by someone who says all they are recording on this one is unknown songs like "Pat-a-Pan." However, that is not too unknown, and anyway, it's nice music. You just have to get used to it if you don't know some of the tunes already. No, they are not all traditional Christmas tunes, but that doesn't matter. It is beautiful Christmas music that has become an irreplacable part of my Christmas season.
