I can't stop laughing when I read it on public transit. If you love Chuck Norris, after reading this book, you'll love him more. He takes those internet jokes about him quite lightly and some of the jokes seem to be based on adventures that Chuck Norris has experienced. Only Chuck Norris is a better person than Chuck Norris. I can't wait to see him in Expendables 2.

Great book for a quick distraction. I keep it in my office for clients to read if they have to wait. I have to kick my co-workers out because they all want to read it. Its great to see such a legend doesn't take himself all that seriously but instead is constantly redirecting the credit for major achievements in his life to others.

HASH(0xa0cadd44) out of 5 stars 100% Awesome Oct. 16 2009
By Jason Evans - Published on
Format: Paperback
You don't have to agree with all of Chuck Norris' opinions on God and politics to enjoy this title. The ridiculousness of the "facts" about Chuck are coupled with the hilarious lengths Norris goes to craft a correlating, yet, authentic life story and axiom. Towards the end, the tales and principles begin to blur together, but it is worth it. I found myself laughing out throughout the book, and moved almost to tears by some of Chuck's generous actions. I am one of those that doesn't agree with Chuck much of his politics but his sincerity and ability to not take himself too seriously cannot be debated and are to be respected.

HASH(0x9f89e8b8) out of 5 stars Chuck Norris Fact #1 - Chuck Wants You to Read This Book Oct. 23 2009
By Joshua Olds - Published on
Format: Paperback
You've all heard them. Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't pushing himself up, he's pushing the earth down. Jesus can walk on water, but Chuck Norris can swim on land. Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer - too bad he's never cried. Ok, Ok...enough already. I could go on forever. But what you may not know is that behind the legendary Chuck Norris jokes, is Chuck Norris the actor.

Movies like Missing in Action, The Delta Force, and their respective sequels. For his movies, I remember him most through The President's Man, where he played Joshua McCord. He also did television, most notably Walker, Texas Ranger which ran for an amazing 8 seasons. I (literally) grew up tuning in each week to see how Ranger Cordell Walker dispatched the bad guys. But before his acting career, he was Chuck Norris the martial arts expert.

Now Mr. Norris finds himself doing something else. Writing. Now this isn't Norris' first book. His biography Against All Odds is right over there in my shelf of biographies. But here, for the first time, Norris gives us some insights into his life and career, and he does so by tying them to his favorite Chuck Norris Facts.

This book is basically a collection of small essays either telling a story about Chuck, or him speaking on different issues he is passionate about (the economy, martial arts, etc.). Through it all, we see what role Chuck's Christian faith plays in his life. The books concludes with his official testimony.

So whether you're a fan of Chuck Norris for Walker or for his movies or for his acting or for his martial arts or for his political activism or even for his endorsement of the Total Gym - or even if you're not a fan of Chuck Norris - you should scroll up now and buy this book. Partially because it's a great read, but mostly because Chuck Norris wants you to... and he's standing right behind you.

HASH(0x9f8eb12c) out of 5 stars A Man worthy of far more respect than I reallized Oct. 22 2009
By Anne from Baltimore - Published on
Format: Paperback
First, I have to say, "wow." I feel like a kid saying that, but I had no idea growing up what the big deal was about Chuck Norris. Then, over the past few years I started hearing about these internet rumors about him and I didn't understand the fascination. I think I got a clue about all of that in reading this book.

This book is a collection of Chuck Norris's 101 favorite internet rumors about himself. I learned a lot of interesting things about Chuck Norris in this book. First, his first name is Carlos--he got nicknamed Chuck in armed forces. He got married 10 years ago (He is now 69) and has twin 8 year old boys. He loves God. A lot. And he loves his family and this country.

With each rumor, he shares either a story about his life or some of his perspective about life. He does talk about God a lot in this book which was very interesting to me.

I realized as I read this book that I really had known nothing (!) about Chuck Norris before I read this book. And now, I've learned a lot. Honestly, I can say that I'm glad that I read this book and I know about 10 people that I want to tell about this book right away--because I think they'll genuinely enjoy it.

Note: I did receive this book as a complimentary copy from Tyndale Publishing. But, I definitely would have bought it on my own!

The perfect place for this book: In the bathroom, so that when you can shut the door and steal a few minutes of peace away from the kids-- you can sit, laugh, and read something light, funny, and encouraging!

HASH(0x9f8e9bb8) out of 5 stars For fans of Chuck Norris, his beliefs, and his faith. Jan. 31 2010
By Alain B. Burrese - Published on
Format: Paperback
Chuck Norris "facts" have been going around the Internet for a number of years now. However, it wasn't until "The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book: 101 of Chuck's Favorite Facts and Stories" written by the actual Chuck Norris was published that we had Chuck Norris' favorites. The book is much more than just a collection of 101 quotes such as "When the going gets tough, the tough get Chuck Norris" and "The first rule of Chuck Norris : Follow his rules or eat his roundhouse kick." For each quote, or "fact," the book contains a short essay, a quote from someone else, and one of Chuck's Code, a short piece of advice such as "If I have nothing good to say about a person, then I will say nothing," or "Fighting for your family is a fight worth fighting."

I thought this was a very fun little book to read, and a book that also contained some very practical and good advice regarding living. Anyone familiar with Norris knows that his faith and conservative values are extremely important to him, and they are the foundation for the principles he lives by. Naturally, his values and faith come into play as he writes about things important to him, his life, and the way he recommends people live. Therefore, if you do not like his political or faith based positions, you might not like this book. On the other hand, if you share these beliefs and enjoyed his Black Belt Patriotism," you undoubtedly would enjoy this book too.

It does not go as deep into subjects as "Black Belt Patriotism" did, but there is still a list of references in the back. He does his research when he quotes things. And no, not every story in this book is political or faith based. Some are just fun stories of experiences. But they do have some kind of lesson behind them. I also like that a share of the proceeds from the book go to KICKSTART, the program that focuses on building strong moral character in our youth through martial arts.

If you want to read some of the humorous "facts" about Chuck Norris and then be motivated by some stories and the actual code he lives by, get this book and have a fun quick read. Then every once in a while you can pick it up for a shot of "feel good" because that is what most of the stories do, help you feel better and remain focused on those things that are most important. I enjoyed the book and actually bought a number of copies to give to my students at Christmas. For those that like Chuck and his beliefs, you'll enjoy it too!
