It has been one really long - as well as crazy, heartbreaking, exhilarating, and anxiety-filled - month for Clary. She has been one busy girl - mixing it up with vampires, werewolves, and fairies, fighting demons, and falling in love completely and totally. Like I said, it has been one helluva month for Clary.
When we last saw her, both Clary and Jace were reeling from the fact that they were brother and sister. I think you were able to hear a collective moan of "oh no" across the country when everyone reading the book got to that part. On top of that, her mother was in a coma and Simon, her BFF, was turned into a vampire. Seriously, can anything else go wrong?
Welcome to the final chapter in THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS trilogy.
The trip has been planned. Everyone is going to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters. Clary was going to save her mother, learn more about her past. Life was going to be good once again. However, keep in mind the saying "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry"....
So what goes wrong? For starters, Jace doesn't want her to go, claiming that it is too dangerous, especially if people, the wrong people, find out what she can do with runes.Read more ›
Clary will discover secrets that they were kept in dark for years.... but Jace is not willing to help her. Clary finds Sebastian who is too eager to help her but he is hiding something.......
Love it, love it!!!!!!!!!!! It was a good closure for the story.
I loved Alec in this one. At the previous books he was so into Jace and against Clary that kind of made me not like him but in this book you see him being more mature and willing to face his fears.
In this book we see Isabelle being more emotional. We can see that behind the Shadowhunter gear she's just a girl and even though she can handle everything (expect from cooking.. lol ) and be strong, she's fragile just as she's strong.
Simon. Ok, I usually don't like a character who goes between a couple, and that's the case here, but I really liked him. In the previous books he was trying to win Clary over Jace but in this book he realises that he can have her only as a friend and that's what he does..... not like Jacob in Twilight.. (These books has nothing to do with Twilight but if you have read them you know what I mean by Jacob insisting that he was the one for Bella... huh!)
Anyway that's one of the reasons that I love Simon, that he understands what Clary wants and steps aside to stand by her as a friend.... the other reason is that now he's more involved in the story, he's stronger now and ready to have some action and take responsibilities.
Jace. What can I say about Jace. I can start from how much I love him!!!!!!!! :)
He is very strong as a character and deep.Read more ›
Clary was shocked that Jace did not want her to come. Why would he? Clary knows nothing about this world, which she only knew about a few months ago. And now she wants to come with him to the capital for the biggest meeting since the first time Valentine attacked. So Jace along with Simon struck up a plan on how to leave without Clary, which would have worked, except for the unexpected attacked making Jace drag a half-dead Simon with him through the portal. When Clary found out she was not pleased. Using her ‘new magic’ she created her own portal to get her and Luke into the city. Sadly Clary was not custom to the rules, and did not know that you cannot connect a portal into the center of the city without someone on the other side expecting you. With that Clary landed herself in the middle of a lake, which is poisonous to Shadowhunters. Without Luke she would have died on the spot. Once there she was shocked how cold Jace was to her, it was like he did not want her there. Crying for the fact that Jace hates her, Clary meets her dark prince who goes by Sebastian.Read more ›
