Honestly, there are several good translations. I own several. My choice is the 1977, NASB copyrighted version. It has great Greek translations, and still keeps the proper uses of you, thou, and thee, etc... Though this translation is no longer published, it still can be found today. There is nothing wrong with the updated 1995 version. And I must also state (in my opinion), there is nothing wrong with the KJV, NKJV, and the ESV Bibles, they're all great translations. I pray that some day they'd all come together in one combined translation, keeping the proper English usage of the word you, and refining their Greek to English translation. I strongly recommend NOT using the NIV nor some other versions, for they water down "The Word of God".

I found this translation of the holy Word to be both stirringly beautiful in its language and accurate in its translation. Highly recommended for people who want to know what the original writers were really writing.

A great price for such an exhaustive study bible! And it came quicker than I expected. I am very happy with this transaction.

It is a good Bible but does not come as advertised. It has a bonded leather cover and is not actually leather.

HASH(0xa1d137f8) out of 5 stars Updated NASB is more clear now Aug. 4 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This version is the best if you are looking for word-for-word tranlation. Updated NASB is more clear so order only 1995 version! Older NASB versions look more like King James, but this one is still super-accurate and plus redefined unclear phrases.

HASH(0xa1d13c60) out of 5 stars Great for high school / college years April 2 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This bible is great for someone who wants a 'closer-to-original' translation but without the 'thou's and 'shall's that tend to confuse as with the KJV. If you're looking for something that provides some background on the author of each book and the purpose of each book, this bible is for you (both are found on the title page of each book). Instead of a flimsy, fall-off-the-leg cover, it has a plain black hardcover. pages are a little thin, but you can turn easily still. Even has topical study references to scripture in back. Great for teens and twenty-somethings that want to dig deeper into the bible! tb

HASH(0xa1d13bdc) out of 5 stars Exactly What I was Looking For Nov. 2 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I first want to put it out there: this is a great Bible. With that said, I'll mention the not-so-great things first. Yeah, it's bonded leather. It's a little cheese-y, but I'm OK with that. I'm not paying tons for this thing, like I would for a genuine leather Bible. Also, the pages are in fact a little thin. They feel somewhat fragile, but again I'm willing to put up with that, as I will expand on below.

There's a lot good to be said about this Bible. For me, it strikes the balance I was looking for. It's not a massive study Bible where the notes are most of the page and the thing is 4" thick, but it's also not a pocket Bible with tiny print and no notes. This Bible has all the notes, cross references, etc. that you would ever need and the text is very readable, yet it's not enormous. In terms of size it's not a "thinline" Bible, it's bigger, but the size is great for all you get. On a related note, they could make the pages a little thicker to cut down on the slight degree of transparency and fragility they have, but then you're making a sacrifice on weight and thickness, i.e. the book will be heavier and thicker with thicker pages. I think the thickness of the pages is pretty much perfect as is.

I've purchased a few Bibles from Amazon now, and for an all-around Bible, this is the best for me and definitely my favorite. It strikes the perfect balance, giving me the notes and references I want, without the size and weight of a study Bible.

HASH(0xa1d13fd8) out of 5 stars Not As Pictured May 13 2013

I bought this to replace an older worn copy. It used to be printed in the USA. Now it is printed in China. The picture shows the old style with the black cover. Apparently Zondervan has decided to save some money by printing it in China, and to market it by putting art work on the cover.
