I give this MP3 player high marks for being just what it says it is - an MP3 player. For those who want small, and easy to understand and use, this is your device. The fact that it is also inexpensive is an added bonus.

My son is mentally challenged, simplicity is essential, this player makes music accessible to him.

Five Stars.

bought it for my husband, who only regrets that it doesn't have a display and does fast forward by chapters (although he did not read the instructions, maybe it actually does do that). the sound is great and it's easy to use! all in all, great player for the $ among those that run on aaa batteries.

This thing sucks. From the software to the construction to everything... the only good part is the micro to usb adapter. I am using it for other things right now. The metal keychain shown in the picture is a lie and it is on a cheap piece of string with a keyclip.

MP3 wise it sucks as a cheap player. No shuffle option, song skip doesnt always work and changing the playlists via the software is painful. I know its a cheap player... and the only reason i bought it is for a helmet mod.

Not worth buying, even at a low price. Its very cheap, but its cheap because it sucks, not because you are getting a sweet deal.

It works alright, but randomly turns off! Or when I skip a song it shuts down.
A little disappointing, but for the money, it will work.

HASH(0xa250bf18) out of 5 stars You get what you pay for March 13 2012

I bought this on eBay because of lower price and free shipping, but initially found it here on Amazon. I wanted a simple inexpensive mp3 player. This one is not it. I have had it skip tracks when I press the vol-down button. I've had it go back to the beginning of a track for no reason, and when it's a long track, finding where I was is very difficult. The fast scan doesn't work reliably. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, it will just shut down. It looks well made in the picture, but it is really just a cheap plastic outer casing, which would have been fine if the operation had been more reliable. Clearly, you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this to anyone. It plays, when it plays, and the sound is decent. I like the little usb adapter which I will use with other devices, but the player is just plain unreliable and annoying.

HASH(0xa250be94) out of 5 stars The last mp3 I'll ever need. Sept. 9 2012

This is the second Coby MP3 player of this kind that I've bought. The first one still works but its over 5 years old and only 256MB. I bought this one to upgrade in terms of capacity (2GB). Why do I love this player so much, its simple, and simple is literally all I need. I use this device while I ride my NINJA I place it in my jeans or in my vest's front pocket and I control it by touch whithout looking at it (I got to pay attention to the road). I don't need a screen to look at I just need buttons that stick out. I carry with me an extra battery or two (rechargeables) and I don't need to worry about running out of juice... ever. I can't say anything about durability on this model since I've only had it a few days. So far it has met my expectations. The only issue I had with the 256MB model was that it shut itself off, I fixed it by stretching a little the battery spring (it had lost tension over the years and the battery lost contact under periods of stress like tapping, running or jumping) it works fine now.
About the software I brings I don't use it, I stored it in my back up disk. I simply transfer the files directly (like I have always done with the previous model).

HASH(0xa250d498) out of 5 stars didn't care for it. Nov. 22 2013

I didn't care for this one. I found the Coby MP-320 to be much better. I liked this one because it takes a battery, but after a couple of weeks use, when I would push the volume up, it began to change songs. I couldn't get the volume high enough for my taste. I wouldn't recommend this one.
