From the Publisher
The 1969 Camaro SS is arguably the iconic model of the marque. Surprisingly, it was a single-year design, yet it sold very well. Total Camaro sales for ’69 were 243,085 units, a stunning number for a vehicle that had been on the market less than three years. Clearly, people respond to superb design.
The world’s fastest Camaro started life as a 1982; it has a 1985 nose, as that nose is more aerodynamic. A full interior is still in the car, and it currently holds 14 world records at the Bonneville Salt Flats, with a top speed of 251 miles per hour using a 448-cubic-inch normally aspirated V-8.
As in previous years, the RS model was the base Camaro. General Motors 2012.
