It also starts with general information on the misgivings about snakes. it then moves onto general snake behaviour. The counting of snake scales and their scale structures is also present in the book. It also gives other information on the different types of venom, their symptoms, and what anti-venom is required to combat them It also gives a photographic guide to applying bandages and other first aid treatment for snake bites. There is also a little bit of information on the keeping of snakes as pets or in captivity and what is required to do so effectively. There is other information, also.
All in all a great book if you are planning to go to South Africa and find snakes or if you are a snake lover in general and just want to educate yourself.
