In fact, since purchasing my own copy I have bought three more to give to family and friends for their cookbook collections.
At the beginning of the book the author gives a very detailed overview of all the grains she uses, as well as how to cook and store them, and their nutritional values. Each recipe has nutritional values listed as well, and in some cases, instructions on how to cook the dish using a slow cooker.
There are recipes for all meals (not just breakfast)and the collection include delicious ways to cook, chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian dishes. Although some of the ingredients may be unusual according to North American tastes, they are not obscure or difficult to find - and she does suggest viable substitutions in some cases.
All in all, I highly recommend it.
The introduction explains the origins of the grains, cook times, buying and storage instructions - a good read!
I am aiming for a healthier lifestyle - this book provides breakfast to dessert choices that I feel good preparing and espicially eating!
