Product Description

Readers say, "Wonderful companion to Empath."

***Make sure to pick up Empath (Flawed #1) first!***

Logan's secret has been exposed. When Jade--a beautiful student at the college where he teaches--discovered the truth, he spilled the whole repulsive story. Jade's empathetic kindness flooded him with emotions he didn't know he had and isn't sure he wants to deal with.

It would be the easiest thing in the world to leave and let Jade be a whisper in his past. He can exit now and regain his anonymity, or he can risk everything to stay and face her again.

It's not an easy choice, and when he's about to decide, a woman from his past shows up, making his decision even more difficult.

What really happened when Logan disappeared during Empath? Find out in this short story companion piece to Empath (Flawed #1).

The author provided a copy of the short story in exchange for an honest review.

Constricted is the perfect title for Becca J. Campbell’s short story that can be read as a stand-alone but should be read along side her captivating Flawed series.

This short story gives us the background required to understand Logan. The college professor is attempting to live his life but continues to struggle with his own demons. He reveals his feelings sympathetically via his words and actions. Violet’s true self is exposed to the reader—enough said! Can Logan protect himself from Violet’s personal agenda?

Looking forward to reading more from this creative storyteller.

HASH(0xa21c0c90) out of 5 stars Another work of Art from Becca! April 21 2015
By Justin Matthews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is a short story that takes place at the same time as the main book EMPATH. I received an advance copy for review. It has been a while and several books since I read Empath, and I didn't realize that Constricted took place at the same time, from Logan's perspective. When I started this story, I immediately was drawn back into the character of Logan, and his story. I'll admit, I kind of want to be Logan, hiding from the world in the woods, and saving damsels in distress. I am looking forward to the next story in this series, Becca has a great grasp of these characters. They are rich and full if Flawed. The world she has created is real, it is our world and these characters feel very real as well. Becca has a gift for writing, and I can't recommend her books highly enough. Check them all out and you won't be disappointed!

HASH(0xa1145210) out of 5 stars The Mysterious Logan April 21 2015
By lindylu - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Constricted was Logan's POV. I was excited to read this. It was nice to be inside of Logan's head. He was so closed off and you couldn't tell what he was thinking in Empath, his true feelings. This story shows were he came from and something's he was struggling with. I liked Logan, I thought he was mysterious from years of hiding himself, that to me is intriguing. I can see why Logan and Jade are drawn to each other they have had sheltered lives and can comfort each other.

HASH(0xa113cf6c) out of 5 stars Another Perspective March 10 2016
By Rebecca Lovell - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
The fabulous Becca J. Campbell gave me a copy of this short to read and I was absolutely thrilled. I love the Flawed universe and all the characters, so I was really looking forward to another bite at the Empath apple.

I've read all the other Flawed books and short stories already so it was a little strange to go back to this one knowing everything that happened after Empath. It was interesting to see what happened to Logan and see things from his perspective when he started falling for Jade, especially his desire to run away. It made him seem all the more real, even if his "power" is one of the more unusual ones.

It was also interesting to meet Violet, who we see a lot more of in Protector, and learn a little backstory on her. When she first showed up in Protector, I hadn't known anything about her and she seemed a little like she fell out of the sky. Now that I know that she was introduced in this story, I wish I would have read it sooner.

Constricted is about the same length as Pulled, so it felt like it was over before I was ready for it to be. It did give me a new perspective on Logan, though, so I really enjoyed it. Sadly, it also reminded me that for the moment I am all out of Flawed books to read, which means I have to go back to pacing the floor waiting for the next one to come out!

HASH(0xa118248c) out of 5 stars Another home run for Becca! April 21 2015
By cvkrieger - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was privileged to be given an advanced copy of Constricted, and I absolutely loved it! It's a companion to Empath, the first book in the Flawed series, and follows the story of Logan while he is away from Jade. The Flawed series is probably my favorite of Becca J. Campbell's works, and Constricted does not disappoint. It's a short story with a powerful punch!

As a reader, I instantly felt connected with Logan, sympathy toward his circumstances, and hatred toward the antagonist. Becca did this beautifully and effectively for being a short story and not a full length novel.
If you're like me, and love stories that incorporate supernatural abilities, Constricted and the entire Flawed series is definitely for you! This is yet another home run for Becca, and I can't wait to read what comes next!

HASH(0xa13c8054) out of 5 stars Review of Constricted April 21 2015

I do have to say first definitely have to read the first book in this series to understand what is going on in this one. I feel for Logan and his predicament that he has put himself into. He runs from his past and starts to run from his future as well. He is a smart man just confused about things. Finally able to confront his past but unsure how to go about it. Then he is faced with yet another problem that he is a bit afraid to confront, but really wants to. Becca Campbell did an awesome job bringing this book to life and making me want more.

I received this book for an honest review.
